"I had a pic nicked once. They blocked me when I pointed it out so for all I know it's still on there, but I did report it straight away. It's easy to nick pics on here, and it does say on FAQs that anything you don't want nicking should be kept private or just not uploaded! It's our responsibility really as there is no completely secure way to have pics on the internet." Omg! How can you be cool, knowing someone may still have your beautiful pic on their profile? And then what if a meet is arranged and the person thinks they are meeting the girl in the pic, its just not cool at all x

And then what if a meet is arranged and the person thinks they are meeting the girl in the pic, its just not cool at all x" Well most people who nick pics will nick the ones with no faces on (which is what they did with mine). It was my own fault - I chatted, they sent a friend request, next time I logged in there was my pic! Lucky for me they only nicked one I guess! One of the rules of the internet is never have anything on there you don't want people to see. That includes Facebook, blogs, other forums etc etc. I mean, how many people will happily upload an amateur vid to some porn site then wonder why their boss has watched it? Fab has some good features, but we have to take responsibility too.

"no it isn't cool but the only way to avoid it is not have any pictures up at all...anywhere. I can't remeber the guys name I'll google it and come back later but there is a chilling case of a woman who stole several sets of mens pictures from dating sites and face book then set up dating profiles using them, she hoodwinked a lot of women into falling in love with the mythical guy. " I read about that. She lived in Wales right?

"Its the internet. Right click. Save as. If there's copy protection, they screencap then crop. That's the internet for you." Exactly this. If you are going to post pics ANYWHERE on the internet - not just Fabs - people can and do nick 'em left, right and centre. Fact of life.

"This is why we watermark all our pics" Hate to tell you but removing a watermark is easy. As said above don't put anything on the Internet you don't want to be stolen or used in anyway.

"I'm afraid it happens to a lot of us and the only way you can protect yourself a little is to watermark them as i have done. Its happened to me before and site admin were very good in dealing with the matter. So if you know the persons profile then report and let them deal with it. Just a simple editing programme will let you watermark your photos before you upload them. " Again a watermark can be erased. You can protect your pictures on some sites by disabling right click, but even then if someone is determined to steal your pics they will.

"Hi Guys. My friends have recently informed me that one of my pics was on another persons profile, I could not trace the person as I believe my friends messaged him or her to say they knew that pic was not them and I think they may have deleted Question is How on earth can people steal your pic? and more to the point, why would you put another persons pic on your profile and pretend it was you? I was quite shocked someone did that and not over the moon about it " I'd love to knick that guitar though. Is it a real Les Paul or a copy?

".... what if a meet is arranged and the person thinks they are meeting the girl in the pic, its just not cool at all x" It's not cool at all, to use someone else's pics to get a meet. All the more reason to insist on seeing someone on cam, to prove that they are the person in their profile pics.

"http://www.fabswingers.com/articles/FAQ#rightclick Why don't you right-click protect our photos to stop others stealing / saving them? We believe in being straighforward with the members of Fab. Right click protect doesn't work and gives a false sense of security by pretending to "protect" images. Other sites may pretend they've protected your images but actually they're being dishonest by claiming that. Right click "protect" can be gotten around in under 2 seconds by any of the following methods: Simplest: Goto File menu, Save As, and save to desktop = The photos will be in a folder on your desktop that your browser has created. OR... Disable JavaScript by going to Tools menu, choose Internet Options, Click the Security tab, click Custom Level, scroll to the "Scripting" section of the list and click Disable. Right click can now be used to save images. OR... Press print screen and the image + page will be copied to clipboard where it can be pasted into a graphics program for resize or save. We give you three privacy options on your photos and we now hide images from anyone who isn't a member of Fab. If you are worried about someone stealing your photos you may want to set them to be viewable only by your friends, or private in which case you can send by private mail. We also now watermark all photos upon upload. " How do you watermark your pics, sorry, I just dont know how to do it

"we were informed when we had a profile before that our pics had been stolen i messaged admin and nothing was done for ages. i put in my profile that xxxx was using our pics and its a fake profile. within minutes the site had messaged us threatening to ban us because we named a fake profile justice eh?" So Admin dealt with your complaint and then dealt with someones complaint about you. I am guessing they are dealing well with Reports
