Anyone ever been to cap d'agde..camping in the area and wondered what its all about? Can we get to the nudist beach or do we have to be a resident?

Never tried 'public' place before so dont know the form. Any help appreciated

West Yorkshire

There's actually a good wikipedia article about Cap D'Agde! And a forum search will probably bring some helpful stuff up

The camping is really naturist: loads of families, or very young couples.

Then the "concrete accomodations" are way more expensive but more adapted to swingers.

Anyway, you can have loads of fun in the village!!

I suspect you can walk in from the Marseillan end but it's maybe easier to buy a day pass at the main entrance.

People take their clothes off and lie in the sun. There's 'some' rumpy-pumpy but you have to be in the right place at the right time and the flics disapprove.

Nonetheless, it's well worth a visit.

Don't expect massive orgies 24/7: once again loads of families on the beach during the day!

Families tend to stick to the western end of the beach where behaviour is more strictly monitored than further east.

That's not to be taken as a licence to behave badly to the east but there's a bit more tolerance.

You can get to the naturist beach from all parts if the Naturist Quarter, including the camp site. I believe the camp site was there way before the concrete jungle. There is sex on the eastern end of the beach, but it is still illegal and it all stops when word of the gendarmerie spreads..

Great place to visit, but out of peak season is better if you want more "action". The Europeans tend to be there in July and August, so loads more families and that means kids! Much more discretion it required around children.

Yes, we tend to arrive on the august bank holiday when the french school kids have gone home. The beach police also leave then and only pay a token visit every so seldom.

We tried going in early june but the place was only 1/4 full and it wasn't quite as warm.
