hi, i've been really really interested in attending a club for some time now but always put it off due to a few what-ifs. one big what-if ive been wondering about it encountering someone ive blocked. or even getting to know someone and finding out i have them blocked on fab. i block at least 10 people a day for various reason but usually being rude/pushy so probably wouldn't recognise them. has anyone had an experience like this? i imagine it would be pretty common

You're over thinking it a bit. We played with a couple and found out later they were actually on our block list! Just go and have a good time. No one should be offended if they're on someone's block list, and if they are then tough for them.

It can be awkward yes but don’t let it put you off, it’s no different to bumping into someone you don’t like , or an ex in a pub in a vanilla setting ,you will no doubt just ignore them and enjoy your evening. It’s the same in non vanilla clubs , if you see someone you don’t like or have blocked just ignore them and spend your night mingling with new people.

We had blocked a couple who were too pushy and had slagged us off quite a bit , bumped into them at a club, just ignored them, didn’t give them eye contact and got on with our evening.

If anyone in a club causes you offence, intimidates you or is mean you can report them to the owners and they will sort it for you.

Not all humans get along it’s life most people won’t remember or even know who have blocked them after a while anyway

yeah i definitely have a tendency to overthink these things! would just hate to be with someone and later find out id previously blocked them for something egregious. thanks for taking the time to respond, guess ill just try and go nonetheless.

thanks! i think ill just try and find someone to go with so i have someone to hide behind if it gets awkward. someone was doing a birthday bash soon and i wanted to attend but saw in their veris that they had met a couple that had previously been really pushy towards me. ill completely ignore if i end up going and still hopefully have a good time haha

Honestly. Consider like a newbie event as an introduction to the club scene.

Going to an event where sexual behaviour isnt allowed can really remove any pressure and concerns for your first time.

Good luck OP.

It's completely acceptable to people for their profile name. That said, at 10 blocks a day you won't remember many!

I'm in Manchester on 23rd-25th July and looking to go to a club. Despite having been a club regulat in a previous chapter of life, it's been many years since the last time.

Perhaps we could be moral support for each other! A social first, of course, and no obligation to play together

The proportion of people on Fab who actually go to clubs is a tiny proportion.

I'd say the chances of bumping into someone you blocked on your first club visit is unlikely

I’m sure using the line “I’m only interested in submissive men” will work far better face to face, than it appears to in here 😋

Just have a firm idea in your head what you are looking for on the night, and stick with that. Perhaps think more carefully about which event you attend, to find what/whom you’re looking for. 👍

Many clubs events operate group chats before the night. If there's one available they're a great way to get to know people before you arrive. You'll also get an idea of who is going so may be able to work out anyone you want to avoid in advance.

They tend to be mixed, and you can find some guys try to jump in your DM's with a view to 'staking a claim' or planning on playing, without even having met you. Avoid that at all costs. Just use them as a social tool and you'll probably find that there are other first timers going too.

Happy clubbing!

My question is, would they recognise you, probably not from your profile.

Going to a club is always a nervous experience. Especially for the first time. It is however well worth pushing past those early nerves as it unlocks a world of possibilities, I have met some incredible people at clubs, some become friends and others I have never seen or heard from again. It is all part of the process.

I will say, I did bump into someone at a club I played with about a month later but not one word was mentioned out of the club environment, just a momentary hi in pasting. That is all.

Club goers are some amazing people.

Whatever you do, don't go with a guy unless you know them well - there's too high a chance of them getting the wrong idea.

Well, unless you want them to get the wrong idea, in which case it's a great place for a first date!

We actually had a social with a couple, just a few coffees, then they said they are heading to a club the following Saturday and would we like to meet them there and play. Maybe try something like that , or someone you've already had a social with and liked.
