Quick question for the Fab hive mind...

Is our profile too long or too detailed?

We seem to get plenty of views, but not much engagement, so we're wondering if people are opening it, seeing a wall of text, and making a swift tactical retreat or maybe we just don't seem very approachable. 😂

We thought being open and detailed would help people get a feel for us, but perhaps we've accidentally written the director's cut.

There's a few chunks of that that even if they aren't AI are so generic and everyman that they're pointless.

Can I ask why it's single guys and single females? As opposed to males and females or guys and girls. I'm always put out by terms which other us as if we're a different species.

Most people aren't for most people. If not everyone who sees your profile contacts you that's fine. Most people won't be your people anyway 💜

To be honest we didn't even think about the single guys/single females but it's a fair point and we will make that change.

Don't see anything specifically wrong. You seem to lay out your stall well. The bio is maybe on the longer side but not too long and it's all relevant. I've definitely seem longer ones. The pictures seem nice. Show good range and most importantly there's a few of the husband. I don't really see anything wrong per se. Without seeing your messages all I can say is keep getting yourselves out there and give it time.

Yes, we started to change it within the first few feedbacks we received 😂, we had a feeling it was too long.

Although it's still not as short as some , we don't feel we can go much shorter without losing some of the things we want to say.

Caramel I read it all. Very detailed and specific and well written. People, if they are interested in getting to know you, should take the time to read your profile. I wish people would read mine sometimes. A lot shorter than yours, but it's annoying being asked certain things when my details are on my profile.

We have a long profile, but we've tried to chunk it by using dots/hyphens to create lines. We were hoping it helped the reader skim it more easily.

Doing something similar could help those people who are put off by long text 😊

Personally I like reading a long detailed profile. Especially if it has some humour in it. Ours is pretty long too xx

believe me when I say this, compared to my profile yours is a oneliner, lol.

real people give out as much info, freely and openly, as they feel is needed to let people get a decent idea of who and what they are, what they like and what they want.

does your profile do that .. YUP.

the people who take time to read your profile have a far better chance of knowing, before they meet you, where they want to take things.

Ours is even longer and we get 200 views a day and no messages , we used to get offended then we thought do you know what , this is what we want, what we decide to put on our profile , anyone that doesn’t like it isn’t for us. The trash takes its self out, we have multiple verifications to prove we are not only real but good at what we do.

We thinks it well written out, you’ve done similar to us by putting capitals to highlight which section would be relevant to the person reading, not sure if you had the same idea, but we did that so if they didn’t want to read it all, they could easily find the parts that apply to them. 🙂

There always have been lots of "comment on my profile" threads on Fab over the years and at some point some guy will usually pipe up with "if a single guy wrote this the reaction would be..."

It's actually pretty good acid test though. If you reckon a single guy writing a profile in a similar way would get annihilated for it then time to rethink.

Its your profile, detailed, but if its important to you to get across your likes and dislikes, that's fine.

A huge percentage of people on this site will never meet, so a profile with ten words or a thousand words has no difference.

If you use AI, good luck to you, its a tool and is there to be used.

For everything you want, probably best to attend a social or visiting a few clubs.

We attend swingers holidays too, its brilliant, cannot recommend it enough.

Whatever you choose, have a wonderful swinging journey, we have.

One tip.

Don't mix swinging friends with vanilla friends. 🤣🤣

Thanks for all the feedback , we did make the profile shorter a few days back and some people still feel it's too long and some people feel it's good length , it really does just come down to personal preference with the reader, and we have quickly discovered no matter what we do with it it's never going please everyone and that's totally fine we all have our preferences, again we do appreciate all the feedback, Thank you

Your profile should be what you want and working as you want it … mine is a semi blog and primarily for me to remember the year .. I will remove the events every Jan to begin a new one and archive the old one … I have a very small section about me at the start … and then a wall of text and shenanigans and friends and liaisons …. But we all now the punters want the pix …. This is the trial to get there lol … it takes effort and commitment to bring oneself to an event … let’s see that commitment from anyone joining me … if you can’t be arsed …. well your loss lol … my two bits … and you both sound lush and know what you want xxx

We’re all in this planet for a few years .. and then we’re pushing up daisies .. Enjoy your time here xxx and be beautiful

For us our profile has core content which doesn't change, but the fluff around it does depending on what we'd like to find at that time. And it might been seen as rather long....

A detailed profile giving an accurate idea of what we desire, our preferences, and our boundaries saves everyone wasted time.

I wouldn't suggest someone change their profile unless it's not working for them. Then as the OP found, you can't please everyone, so no point trying. x
