We've never met a fake woman.

I'm sure there are lots of people who arent what they seem, whether that's gender, marital status or whatever.

It's why not believing anything just because it's written on the Internet is important. It's easy to spot the fakes as they won't speak on the phone, video call or turn up at clubs and events.

If you're relying on just the written word to decide if something or someone is what it appears then you're leaving yourself wide open to disappointment.

for me it’s when they have been on for a year or over no verifications no photos and no profile photo can’t accommodate if someone contacts me on here with a profile like that I’m more than suspicious normally walk away

Yes I've had two couples contact me recently who are definitely not who they claim to be. After exchanging a few messages you can start reading between the lines. If ut smells like a rat it's probably a rat.

The internet is full of fake people, every forum, every dating site, every social media site will have loads of them, it’s just something we have to expect. As long as you’re aware that there are fake profiles and you’re always wary of the risk then they’re pretty easy to spot, especially as they all tend to follow the same format and behave in the same way so the more you see the easier it becomes to spot them.

What really annoys me is how the owners of the websites and apps make very little effort to find the fake profiles and remove them from the site. These people will be tech wizards if they’re running a website so I’m sure it would be easy for them to do, especially with the help of AI that’s available now, but they don’t seem to want to do anything about it so it will never go away.

Obviously they get more money from advertising if they have more people using their site, this includes all the fake profiles, so if they were to remove the large number of fake profiles on their site their revenue from advertising will be reduced greatly. Basically, they’d be spending money and investing time into doing something that is going to reduce the turnover and value of their company….obviously that’s never going to happen. So they’re putting money before the safety and enjoyment of the genuine people who use their site….that’s the world we live in unfortunately.

We feel it more on our couples profile.

Very heavily male lead....woman practically invisible, and she's no longer meeting.

Lots of genuine people around though, so we just hit block and move on.

Thanks then as going by you I'm fake because I'm uncomfortable on the phone with people I don't know so choose not to do calls I don't do video calls ever and clubs aren't my thing I don't attend them

This site is now a sea of fakes, fantasists, pic collectors and downright liars. Was MUCH better when we first joined 12 years ago. Chats begin but we soon discover they lied in the profile, are posting photos pinched from sex sites or simply ghost us or don't log in for days/weeks mid chat !. Tiring isn't the word...

We offer a fem-fem phone call if a meet looks imminent and have even taken a photo of cherry holding some household item to prove she's real lol

A lot of the time they're getting them from Reddit, incidentally off Reddit profiles which are also fake and posting other people's pictures without consent.

There has been a few instances where ladies I know have had their photos used for fake profiles.

My wife and I, joined about 7 years ago.

Since then it has changed… maybe due to its success

Us as an example my wife found a boyfriend who she has since ever since.

However my view is:- it’s just an occupational hazard

Of being a single male on here

I don't know so much about people pretending to be a particular sex. When they are a different sex. Usually a couples profile being used by a single male to attract someone. I think the worst is when somebody pretends to be female. And then they admit they are male. But in my experience it's about fake people. As in they aren't very pleasant. I can't imagine even wanting to be in the same room as them. Rude, arrogant and incredibly ignorant. My profile says that I meet ladies only. I get 99.9% of males trying to change my mind.

Can be quite disappointing as a couple of the profiles have been pretty believable

Maybe I'm just noticing it more, but there does seem to be an increase in new profiles that contain little more than "message me on SnapKikTeleWhatsGramChatApp or whichever one is flavour of the month today, presumably with no purpose but to sell content. They often do seem to disappear after being reported though.

Some seem less obvious at first but there are often telltales in the way they're written.
