Messaging etiquette

So is it appropriate to message someone who’s looked at me? Or let them message if they’ve seen my profile. Don’t want to be pushy if I’m not what someone is looking for.

Think I’ve answered my own question here, but what do others think.

My logic is this.

If they viewed my profile and didnt act on it whether it be a wink or a message....I'm clearly not their type.

So I don't act on it.

If you have a look at their profile, you’re what they are looking for, I don’t see a problem which sending a polite little message saying you can see they looked and would they maybe like a chat.

If they don’t respond, delete your message or say no and then you send another message then you’re out of order.

But that’s my opinion and opinions are like………

Do not message anyone who looked at you! If they were interested, they would have messaged you or at least winked at you. The reason most women, and some couples, use "ninja mode" (meaning they don't show on "who looked at me" page) is because of the "you looked at my profile, fancy a....?" messages.

Sometimes we view a profile off the back of a forum

Post or because of a status.

Doesn’t do us any harm to receive a message.

Unfortunately it’s often a polite no thank you response though.

We hide on looked at me to avoid people messaging to say something like ' we can see you've viewed us, let's chat'. If they wanted to, they would have winked or sent a message

It's always worth being in contact with someone who already has awareness of you, as you're not completely cold to them, subject to their profile suggesting you could be a match.

And this is why so many women turn the setting on so they dont show on your list.

If they were really interested after looking they would have messaged you.

The short answer is — nø.

People look for a variety of reasons. For example they might be gay and looking for gay connections but won't know if you are gay (or not) until they actually look at your profile. Perhaps they looked because you posted a status update or they noticed something you posted on the forums. Some people might be looking for a certain compatibility but they didn't find it in your profile.

Looking at someone's profile doesn't necessarily serve as an impetus for the other person to speculatively message them.

If they've looked and wanted to talk they'd have messaged, there's nothing worse than the "I noticed you looked" messages, this is why most women & couples have ninja mode on.

This is why I only look at profiles in hidden mode, so they don't assume I'm interested and message me, just because I've viewed them.

Message them if you fit what they're looking for and you're attracted to their bio /pics. Not just because they cast their eye your way.
