hi, what is the etiquette with mobile phones at meets / social parties?

i would be put off if someone was taking calls during a meet.

its okay inside a bag or inside a pocket and people should always ask before taking a photo - any thoughts, experiences?

I have to have mine on and with me as I have children who might need me! Though I wouldn't take a call of anyone whilst on a meet, or pics unless it was ok with the other person.

When I'm at the club I make regular trips to my locker to check it

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I don't think there's a specific etiquette at a private meet unless you set one. I know I find it incredibly irritating if someone is texting when they should be chatting or joining in, but if its a GB the organiser might need to be able to check his phone.

In a club or at a party they should be off and put away.

I've cut short a couple of social meets because the guy was playing with his phone and texting as I think it's rude. I asked one guy if he was on call! No manners, no play. Should certainly ask permission before taking photos.,

By the seaside

I had a meet with a group of guys. After about half an hour one had obviously finished and sat down. When I looked up he was playing a game on his mobile to which I then stated 'if you're that bored maybe you can sort out drinks for your mates who actually have the stamina to keep up with me'. A very shame faced person then left the room, got drinks for everyone and then rejoined the fun. He got some ribbing from his mates for the rest of the evening and gave me a huge apology before he left. Doubt he has ever done it again lol.

I was once dogging when a chap I was playing with had his phone ring. It turned out he was married and it was his better and possibly more loyal other half. Rather an embarrassing moment for him! Didn't stop him shooting in my mouth whilst he was chatting to her, though

I met a guy once and on the meet he got a call and he asked me if id excuse him as it was a woman off fab he was arranging a meet with, didn't bother me at first till about 30 mins later I was still sat on my own while he was outside chatting to this woman, I just thought surely the idea of fab is to get meets, you cant sit on your pc and talk on the phone at home, why would you spend time arranging a meet only to ignore them to chat on the phone?

I just got up and left while he was still outside on the phone

I don't mind people taking calls on a meet but if it gets the the point i'm feeling a spare part against a mobile phone I will leave

I honestly though it was bad manners and if someone I was talking to on fab called me on a meet id tell them it was a convenient time and could I call them back, not ignore someone who take takes time and effort to meet me

Need to know basis

If I knew I was expecting a call (that I had no option but to answer it) during a meet, I would warn the person. Otherwise, those who might need me will be given an alternative number to call.

I had a meet once that was going really well until the guys phone went. He ignored it but then checked it later....which I thought was acceptable at which point he said he'd better phone her back as it was one of his friends who was going through a rough time....fair enough I thought.....long story short, I didn't hang about when he told a very angry woman where he was.... and he needed to ask why I was leaving!

We put them on silent and turn off the playphone as its rude not to give your meets all your attention.

That's just bad manners full stop, never mind on a meet! Good on you for walking xx

IMO etiquette should be just the same as a vanilla date. When I'm with someone, they have my full attention, and I expect to have their full attention. Phone on 'vibrate only' is fine, if they are a parent, just in case of emergency.

And deffo, photos should NOT be taken, without permission

I agree.

Yes I do a number of safety texts when I'm on a meet, I make sure someone else is doing the safety texts for others when I'm on a meet, but my kids come before sex, so whilst I wouldn't take a call (it's on silent any way) I do check it.

I should do some pics when on meets, for pics on here, however, my mind is usually on other things

Mine goes onto silent, but if a persistent SMS I have to check as may be work - the joy of modern life where you never seem to stop working. Usually email to say out of coverage area if going to a meet rather than just a social.

Someone sending a quick SMS does not annoy, as well aware many like to do a 'safety' message.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Quick texts for safety or if there's an emergency are ok. But if a meet is constantly checking texts or even phoning then that's just rude

Exactly the same as any other social situation.

When I'm with another , they have my attention , undivided x

Safety text or calls are more than acceptable they are expected beyond that the phone should not be involved no harm in occasional checking but writing a message , even to the kids is unacceptable well , rude anyway .

Mobile phones are an invasive intrusion, in most social scenarios. They should be switched off. During a meet, its only good manners to avoid outside interruptions. As for taking unsolicited photos at meets, thats incredibly ill-mannered.

My phone goes on silent but I have taken or made calls to my children as soon as I realise they have called. Other than that I don't bother with it.

This happened to us to, sadly for the guy it was friends of our's he'd been texting and was supposed to be meeting them the following evening (we didn't know this at the time, purely by chance we were chatting to our mates on here the following day). He made and excuse to them that was totally the opposite of what he'd told us, so obviously lying through his teeth. Ended up getting blocked by both of us, and the quickest we've ever verified somebody and then had to block them.

Lol So if I am just sat having a coffee with someone and my daughter texts me to say goodnight, by texting back I am rude?

If I was being intimate with someone then I wouldn't pick up the message until later, and obviously wouldn't text back, but it would depend on the type of meet, as to whether I send a goodnight text to my babies
