Beginner couple looking for friendly UK club recommendations

Hi everyone.

My wife and I are thinking about visiting our first swingers club and trying something new together. We’re both a bit nervous since it would be our first time.

Could anyone recommend beginner-friendly clubs in the UK where the atmosphere is relaxed and respectful?

Also, my wife is a bit self-conscious about her body and I’d really like her to feel comfortable and welcomed. Are there clubs that are known for being body-positive and friendly to newcomers?

Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, this suggestion is a bit far from london . Club play in Blackpool. Our 1st time was at this club . A good mix of different people . But if you choose the wrong event it will be empty.

We're still relatively new to the scene and so far have found clubs are very body inclusive; with a diverse range of people attending.

Near you is club Ignite which I think is nice for a first club as it's a spa club. You can enjoy the pool and jacuzzi and relax in the bar, and just watch what's going on.

People are generally not unfriendly but clubs are without a doubt clicky. But, it's human nature to gravitate to people we know. So smile, say Hi and you'll find people who will go out of their way to welcome you.

You could also try to connect with people before going and meet them there.

Understandable you feel nervous but be brave take the step and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. x (Mrs)

When we started we went to Townhouse. They have a couples and single ladies only event that has a very lovely and soft approach compared to other places weve visited.

Some places and events you just feel like a piece of meat walking around.

I would thoroughly recommend Jaydees, near St Neots. Some people look down on that club as it's in the "middle of nowhere" and the size of your wallet doesn't matter there, everyone is treated with the same levels of friendliness, as long as they respect the club rules. The club has a variety of rooms, from open play, through couples only to private lockable rooms. There is a huge hot tub that is a good socialising area, you can bring your own alcohol but tea and coffee is provided. Membership is for lifetime, and I believe it's "only" £20, unless you choose to take out a one-off membership only, for the event you're attending - I believe it's £10, but do check the website to confirm.

It's often reported that Jaydees is a very friendly club, including for single men, and staff are very much "on the ball" if there are any issues. They are mainly open at weekends, but they also do have a regular Thursday day time opening, if that's more suitable for you, OP.

Ignite is a good club, too, but it's typically rather full of single men during the day (if that's when you're thinking of attending). Not sure about their weekend events as I have not been.

Townhouse on the Wirral is another very good and friendly club, but that's quite far from London.

Penthouse playrooms in Dunstable has a regular newbie night for exactly this scenario and it’s not too far from you. If you’re happy to travel abit Chameleons in Darlaston is always a socialable crowd but it is a dress down club or look at Dangerous Curves event at Liberty Elite Lutterworth it’s a very body positive crowd of people and always a great night

Hey S here,

I felt the same way as your wife. But once I walked into the club for the first time I was surprised! There's all different body types and the women fully embrace themselves! The confidence oozed out of them! Seeing that made me feel so comfortable and made me feel more confident in my body.

We went to penthouse playrooms for our first club visit (only 15 mins from us) there's no pressure to dress down, so just wear what you feel comfortable in, there's lockable rooms too, so if you aren't comfortable with open play yet, you can always use those rooms

Take her to Bristil Garden health spa in Brighton. As its not a swinger club but a naturist spa it could help build her confidence.

Most clubs are decent to be fair. I think in terms of friendliness and warth the Naughty Pineapple (Leicester) is probably the most. It's a small club so not a club you can hide away in. You can't avoid being noticed there. The place has a good following of regulars. But this doesn't mean its cliquey. The people who go are really friendly and engaging to new people. It just has a very inclusive vibe.

Obviously if your after the big club night out maybe go somewhere else. But for friendly and inclusive in a low pressure venue I think it's a good shout.

Naked Occasions on a Wednesday afternoon is a great beginners friendly club.

It's in an old country pub, it has kept that charm about it in the social area, there is no music or porn playing so it's relaxing and you can chill, but there is a naughty side to it once you feel comfortable. Two lovely hot tubs and play rooms.

It's a good size as well as it's not to big that you are overwhelmed or too small that your crowned together.

The owners run the club who are very friendly welcoming and helpful, they are always cleaning, tidy up and keeping an eye on things to make sure everyone is being respectful, No means no.

Have a look at the V2V club in Nuneaton. Before opening the club, they ran events that were aimed partly at people who are new to the scene and they’ve carried that ethos into their own venue.
