How far is the local search option. nearest i have seen is within a mile. does it ever get closer, eg 200yards away. anyone know??

yes it does - we met our neighbours on a site before we had even spoken to them in real life

Really? I changed my post code on here when I found out last week it does postcode search. The village I live in is rather small, and I don't fancy being the local single female swinger

If your using the whosnearby feature it will show whos online within a mile,its not that specific that it will say this person is now walking up your driveway and about to knock on your door

I've seen within half a mile before but I'm pretty sure it's based on the first half of your postcode, so in a city or large town you're not that likely to find the people next door.

It doesn't use postcode it uses GPS. if you're away from home you'll show in that location not your home.

Within half a mile is as far as it goes.
