Ladies, altering your monthly..

Nr Leicester

Hi ladies, we all know the frustration around mother nature hindering fun.

But I've managed the ultimate one in that our wedding day and honeymoon have perfectly aligned with mine in around 5 months.. 🤬🤦

Contemplating the delay pill in the hope it may alter my pattern during the months running up to it.

Am I wishing on a star?!

Any help/advice/experience would be greatly appreciated!! 🤞😘

Sayana Press, a three monthly injection, totally stops periods. My daughter has been using it with no problems for about three years.

I had no periods with Depo injections but I know some people do.

The delay tablet works well. Used it many times take on the day your period is due and i think it’s 3 a day and it will stop then until you stop taking. But will make you have severe cramps after..

I appreciate it’s not hormonal but it deals with the mess and avoids the side effects.

I use the period delay tablets a fair few times, the only downside is the pmt when your taking them and how bad the period is when you stop

I went with injections in hope it would prevent mine at my wedding...instead I ended up bleeding almost constantly for six months, including my wedding, I happened to be the one out of ten.

Norethisterone mini pill used three times a day as the delay pill works well for me and I hardly have after effects. I don't ever delay more than three or four days though, I think the after effects get worse the longer you driay it.

Delay pills have worked well for me in the past, used them for my wedding to my ex.

Bit late for you but I got a hormonal IUD a year ago and I went from heavy painful periods to spotting a day or two a month, best decision for me.

It took about a year of me taking this but it’s the only contraceptive that has completely stopped them and it’s a god send for lots of reasons

If on the contraception pill, keep taking it (no week break) and you won’t have a period! They tell ladies who have Endometriosis to do this to stop periods and so low down further damage from happening internally. X

A bit of blood should not put your life partner off.

Indeed, plenty of other ways to play. Vibrators, masturbation, rimming.

Women even go to clubs when they have their periods but usually don't allow penetration.

That's a very assumed and judgemental post from a man, it's my body and I wasn't seeking 'your' opinion on what I choose to do or how my life partner feels.

A bit of blood doesn't bother him at all and do we honestly look like we need your advice on alternative play methods?

Clubs during a monthly, yes done that..

Pretty sure you've not had a period, unlike the other contributors here, so your input wasn't relevant or appreciated in the slightest..

You can do this with the period delay tablet. I’ve had them from my GP. You can also get them thru boots and Superdrug doctors.

You need to take them 3 days before your period is roughly due. You may find some light spotting while taking them.

Pains and period can be slightly heavier when you do come on, besides that I’ve found no issues. X

Honey, if you think being on your period is 'just a bit of blood' then you've got no horse in this race I'm afraid.

Most women experience a lonnnggggg list of symptoms during their period, some that make 'a little bit of blood' seem irrelevant, although just fyi for some women it isn't 'a little bit of blood' but quite a lot of blood.

Now I could be wrong but I'm almost certain she would be looking at delaying her period for her own feelings, not to please her partner....it's a wild thought but sometimes women do things for their own benefit to

Appreciated, I have used them previously and whilst not as easy as you're experience it wasn't horrendous.

Can you remember the last time? Reason being I can't remember whether the monthly after was a roughly normal cycle time after the one I delayed.. ie I pushed all future ones back.

Thoughts being done this a couple of months prior, so I have neither the effects of doing so or my monthly around our nuptials or definite consecration 😉😘

Much as I empathise with the inconvenience of menstruation, one has to be aware of the side effects of taking this pill, it's not like taking smarties.

I quote from a female pharmacist :

She also warned that these tablets, like many medications, can come with side effects including breast tenderness, loss of libido, nausea, headaches and changes in mood.

None of the above is desirable on a romantic break.

I cannot understand why people would want to interfere with healthy biological processes. That of course leads to discussions on HRT which involves a long term commitment on a completely different scale.

November time for me as I went on holiday. My first period after was heavier.

I think if you did it months prior it would work out ok with a little planning x

As a man, you will never be able to comprehend anything to do with a menstrual cycle. As you are lucky enough to never have to deal with them.
