If you had the chance to start your relationship over, what mistakes would you avoid? And what recommendations would you give to someone who is planning to start a polygamous relationship?

We met through swinging and were open for large period of our relationship before deciding to focus on just meeting people together. Can't pin point any mistakes but the main thing we learnt was communication, sometimes brutally honest communication, if you want to be poly you have adapt to being completely up front about your thoughts and feelings and allowing your partner to be as well. Theres going to be things you don't want to hear and some things might hurt but how you work through it together is what matters.

Polygamy is likely to be a stretch. There is absolutely no way I would agree to be in a one penis policy relationship while they can have more than one romantic / marriage partner. That said I regularly joke about have a polyandrous household.

Do you mean polyamory/polysexual/ open/ swinging?
