Is there a balance.

Either messaged are long.. Paragraph by paragraph reply and indepth, quick learning about someone.

Or drip fed sentance by sentence.

Which do people find the best way to get to know someone on here.

Are the the sentance or two replies about people trying to keep 'professional' boundries.

If someone keeps replying sentence by sentance and logging in eh time to do so that's 'intrest' at least in keeping the convo going but it's so slow 😂

Hate one line replies, having a conversation is like trying to get blood out of a stone sometimes. Definitely don't mind longer replies, shows people can have a conversation

It depends on the subject matter and who we’re talking with.

We always go with honesty and if we have something to say (however short or long) then we say it.

Sometimes questions demand more than a sentence response.

Sometimes one word will do.

I am an old romanic and love the idea of exchanging letters.

We dont really do this anymore as a society so emails and electronic messages have filled the space.

I like my interactions to be meaningful so that means... engaging which means more than a sentence.

If someone makes it clear they have nothing interesting to say (opening message) I will not engage with them.

It is possible to write a lot but say nothing. It is conversely possible to be concise and meaningful. It all depends.

I think the response needs to be pertinent to the conversation. Sometimes a long response is needed. Other times a very short one. If it is all one way or the other then that is not a good sign.

I can sympathise with this - sometimes getting blood out of a stone is easier! I think getting a conversation flowing is crucial, as it allows everyone to quickly work out if there might be a match, rather than drawing everything out.

A nice message, an introduction and see what happens. This hasn’t however worked for me, only ever had 1 response from a female, which didn’t go anywhere. Only ever has 3 direct messages in a year which never got responded to, so why send one in the first place?

Did chat at length with a couple but it was just a chat, not looking for a couple.

So generally confused how to message, or is it me? Beginning to think it is me, am I really that bad to warrant no looks or messages?
