FabSwingers.com forum: Potential problem!

We have just been to a social meet and had a no show, then ghosted by someone who knew a lot of personal details whom claimed to be a childhood friend.

The details he had were so accurate they can only have been from childhood and were not available on fab.

Their profile has now disappeared.

Anyone any experience of this/advice? Could this become a problem?

Sounds like they might have gotten cold feet- maybe similar fears to what you're experiencing(getting back to their significant other or social circle? Or maybe they are just scared of being rubbish and then you'll remember them as such)...

I think if they were going to be nefarious they wouldn't get so far as to schedule something and then disappear... this would just be my guess of course.

In the highly unlikely event that a problem does arise ( I guess you're concerned about photos or being outed) simply claim that a memory stick with personal photos has been lost or nicked and used to set up a profile. Should anyone attempt to threaten you tell them you have referred theatyee to the police.

I know it's horrible when something like this happens. I really wish people wouldn't do the creepy thing of telling you they know you without saying who they are. It's nasty

Some people are potentially tracked by using photos that are elsewhere on the internet. If people you haven't met manage to track you down, it could only be via text or photos in the profile, unless via somebody you both have contact with in swinging.

The usual method is photo reverse lookup. If they could find you on sites like FBook, they might then be able to retrieve personal information there, etc.

Hi op

I'd also advise you to block new profiles, via your filters, just in case they appear again quickly.

If you can remember any info about the profile, you can then keep an eye out for it, they won't be able to message for a few days.

Then you can choose to block them if you don't wish to have any further contact.

I agree with Mrs nice, I think it's nasty to contact others with info about them, then not reveal who you are.

that sounds like a reasonable excuse thesedays lol also i agree with the forum mod; people shouldnt reveal they know you if theyre not willing to say who they are

We had similar to this, a profile of someone who knew or daughter.

Often it's a bit of a cunts trick because they either:

Get a kick out of worrying people

Believe it gives them some kind of insider entitlement or first dibs

Or worse see it as a tool of coercion

Either way its creepy and out of orde.

It had Mrs freaked out a bit as it was mainly aimed at her. But it's always a possibility on here. So we blocked the loser and carried out. Didn't have anymore hassle after that.
