Is this normal?

Ok, so long story short we arranged a meet with a couple today and it went well, at least we thought so, however we have now seen they have blocked us without giving a reason or anything. Is this a common thing? We checked their verifications and stuff and they seemed fine.

We're a bit concerned now that they've taken photos and videos of us and we have no control over what they do with it. They have our address, phone numbers, etc and now alarm bells seem to be ringing after conversations we had during the meet. Not sure where to go with this or if we're over-thinking it as we've not been in this position before.

How well did you know them before you gave them your address, phone number and allowed them to record images?

Guess like anything on the site, we were talking for a week. A few of our meets have been similar with no issues at all, so felt that based on their verifications it wouldn't be a concern.

Maybe they just weren't feeling it afterwards and just decided blocking was easier than explaining. I assume they've blocked your number too so you can't contact them for reassurance

Which is fair, just concerned they've got stuff and we can't access or prevent them from using it. We're all adults here, being honest doesn't cost a thing.

Sorry to hear about this experience, I have to admit I haven't heard of that before.

As soon as we allow our image to be used by somebody else that is always a risk unfortunately. However if you see it being used without your consent report it to where it is being used and if it ever appears via google you can send a removal request.

Obviously I hope none of the above happens, but you are also covered by law. Do you know their address etc?

I hope it works out ok for you. That does sound a little strange 🫤 I’m so paranoid about someone having videos of me that we only agree to recording if we use our phone. All of our meets have been fine with this and I always send them edited footage. If someone wasn’t ok or wanted to use their phone we’d either not meet or have no recording at all

They are actually breaking the law, so depending how far you want to take it

We did and messaged them threatening legal advice. They have move the stuff from public to private but called them out on it and they've currently fully removed. They've messed with the wrong couple.

Admin do take this very seriously. If you've reported them and advised that they don't have your permission they will deal with it.

I’m so sorry to read this thread! I’m sorry that’s happened to you!

Thankfully there are laws around this now, but still isn’t acceptable, we’re all adults here and this ruins it for the majority of members who can behave as such!

This is dreadful I am not going to allow fab people to take pics or videos. That’s where I draw the line. I am going to only meet at swinging clubs from now on where they don’t allow phones or recording devices. I will feel much safer and much more respected by new people I meet xx
