Looking to buy some nice floggers and other BDSM play toys. Any recommendations on websites? Looking to upgrade from the main online retailers.

There are lots of good sellers on etsy. We bought a pillory on there and it was brilliant.

We try to be much more about quality than quantity these days - though we tend to still have a lot, it's just more expensive!

Back when we were younger and poorer we realised that the equestrian aisle at decathlon sold crops and whips for much less than kink websites!

I agree with the idea of going Decathlon or similar sports / equestrian shops.

I purchased a riding crop about 15 years for less than a fiver.

It worked very well. X

Personally I much prefer going to a kink market and actually knowing how things feel to me before parting with cash.

That said, bignbuff bespoke are always amazing, whips and sticks do some great things, and mavs toybox is another excellent source 💜

It depends on how serious you are and how often the toys will be used, how hard they will be used.and also what the bottom/submissive can take. The material in the falls of the flogger (different leather and suede will feel different, the length and thickness of the falls all have a different effect on the skin.

My default position is, buy in person from a reputable craftsperson. You are supporting the community, you know what you are getting and you can discuss your requirements. That being said it will cost you.

There is no point paying £50 to £100 for a flogger that comes out a couple of times a year. So the cheaper options are recommended as a starter. Decathlon kit has to be fit for sports, so it's fine for kink.

However, if you want an instrument of beauty that will last, get yourself to the London Alternative Market, the Birmingham Bizarre

Bazaar or local BDSM craft fair.

Leather delights is excellent if looking online. However, I’m a big fan of a market. There are several around BBB, LAM, Swamp and most have a play event after the market so you can try them out too, should you wish to (with willing and consenting participants only if course). Xx

Google Jacks Floggers. Think he is on Etsy now.

We have one of his suede leather floggers and love what we can do with it from gentle caressing to something with a bit more force but still kind to the skin.

Etsy is good, just filter by vendors shipping from the UK and then check reviews. This cuts out a lot of the dropshippers.

We recently purchased a flogger from Art Of Whips on there, and it is great quality, real leather and well made. And not too expensive.

We also picked up a couple of canes from SimplyCaning

You can't beat going and seeing (maybe even testing) products before you buy. Maybe somewhere with a show room or maybe a fair where there will be lots of individuals traders. We sometimes go to the Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar (the BBB). There are lots of different traders and lots of variety. Plus normally a good live show, and some people sporting some great outfits.

London Alternative Market is a great place to have some fun and put your hands on good quality items before you buy.

That's if your near London.

Agree. It's generally a lot cheaper than going to a specialist BDSM shop

Think there’s a monthly market in Birmingham too

I was GOING to suggest Mav’s floggers - particularly his clip on poi floggers - but:

He’s doing his first BBB this month, on the 21st. If you can, it would absolutely be worth getting yourself over to Birmingham, having a browse of ALL the stalls, and seeing what you like the look of.

Also: I’ve seen names listed on this thread of traders who have very mixed reputations. Take a hard look at any items you’re planning on buying; see how it’s built, where the weak points are. Over £50, you should be struggling to see weaknesses. Don’t buy a rose flogger if you like hitting people hard, they tend to fall to pieces.

Seconding the suggestion for decathlon and the star crop too, but also - there’s a silicone stirring stick used for horse feed which is pleasantly unpleasant.

Glossop

We would also suggest the BBB or there is a fetish market on the Wirral - location is easy to find if you search online.

Personally.... we would suggest Whips and Sticks

I like to send my new fwbs to the local tack shop. Ideally in a summer dress. To buy a whip of their choice. Only stipulation.... they tell the shop assistant what its for
