Hey All,

Does anyone else feel that Fab has drastically changed over the last 6 months? Prior, I went on the assumption that every 2-3 couples/singles that I message, I’d usually get a response.

Now, it feels l get a response once a week…

Or is this just me?

We've been on Fab 8 years and it seems exactly the same.

Indeed! Just seems to have pivoted to something that’s not so “friendly”

Been on here for well over 10 years.

It ain't changed much, even the user interface is the same.

For single guys it's a tough place to be.

There's also the Online Safety Act. Maybe people are hesitant to provide personal details, and as a consequence, are being prevented from logging on here.

This is a great return rate on your messages. I reply to about one in twenty.

I’m very diligent with my messages, lots of references to their profile… not just the usual 1 liner

Maybe you've just run out of new people to contact?

I've been here for 17/18 years and things come in cycles typically here. The biggest switch I think I've seen was during and since the pandemic.

People are more clued up online, including with using Fab, potentially multiple times and there's possibly a more harsh element now, that's more crudely them wanting to engineer things for solitary benefits, rather than mutually satisfaction and with more warmth.

If top many others become more tactical in ways that are against your own, you need to deploy your own different tactics that engender the environment that you need, including alternative filtering and communication styles that foster the types of relationships that you want. It could be more hard graft to help you to refine your methods. Perhaps a little like having your own war room, that is suitably disruptive to your tactics. It just may be that a little fine tuning isn't enough, if you're finding the new Fab a bit too alien 👽, to getting what you need.

It's a bit unusual during the summer holidays period, as people are going away, have kids around more etc. Some things will adjust come September. Getting together with people like yourself, who can help you to learn from their approach, might help to support you well

One thing that never changes is threads in the forum complaining about not getting responses.

Bath ish

I was a major part of getting a separate SW Chat room about 10

Or more years ago the room used to be great friendly and err chatty and a few times we managed to fill it

Chats ended in some Meets and a lot of parties. For well over a few years the SW room is dead and rarely has more than a dozen people in it

I have had some

Amazing responses. So you Fab has changed

Just wait till you hit 50 let alone 60

Yes its difficult. It's got harder the longer that I'm on here.

Couples and women tend to put their age filters every 5 years so I got reduced traffic at 45 and 50. Then then don't update it when they get older.

But there's plenty to see and do - even at my age.

I'm not sure much has changed

As a SF profile I get the same msgs from multiple guys who just don't read my profile and msg. Sure sure... it's a numbers game - but tbh I feel that ruins the whole thing.

I get so many gross msgs mainly from SM but I accept anyone and any type can send them.

I did have the thought his week of wanting to arrange a private meet- but the thought of having to deal with all the wankers and fabmin in deciding makes my fanny dry

So I just use fab for club and party info!!

K

My understanding of studies of social media is that they all exhibit tendencies where a small number of very active users tend to dominate and end up, intentionally or not, hogging the engagement. It seems to me that this happens here - albeit with slightly different groups being most visible in the forums, the hot photos, and the chat rooms.

Because this is a small number they can have a disproportionate impact on the vibe & tone of the social media space.

I think there's less actual messaging in recent years and more avid club goers that find it easy to meet there instead of waste time chatting..
