Do boots or anyone else do over the counter kits you can buy, then send off.having the kit sent when other flatmates might open post is embarrassing.

Only for Chlamydia as far as I know.

You could always use a PO box number if they still do them

It's surprising more people don't have this issue

Just checked they come in discreet, plain packaging. Your flatmates will only know what it is if they've had one themselves. If a flatmate of mine was using them I'd think they were very sensible.

You can buy kits for some Stds from Amazon. Arrives in a much more subtle way then the small cardboard box from the sexual health centre!

SH:24 send out in plain packaging. Why would flatmates be opening someone else's post? I'd be looking for new flatmates if that happened to me. 🤔

If there's an urgent need just go to a walk in clinic.

How about ordering from Superdrug and collecting from the shop?

A lot of places sell testing and I think I've seen a pack in a store for STI tests - but can't remember which chemist. You might need to phone a few chemists, to find out. I imagine the shelf life could be an issue for some kits.

My local clinics have flexible hours and I think let you take kits away too

Have the results delivered elsewhere, like pick up from the post office or Evri or delivered to your works.

Fuck it dude, get your ass down to the std clinic pronto and don't fucking wait.

You don't want your dick falling off or worse, passing it along.

Quickness does count.

Some areas do free tests you do at home

There seems to be a massive gap in the market for over the counter test kits. There are all sorts of reasons why you might not be able to receive at home kits or why it could be difficult to attend a clinic in person.

If anyone does know of a high street pharmacy which sells them I’d be very keen to know. I paid a fortune for my last test from a private GP

Getting them delivered to nearest post office seems best option..some of the online places have this as an option.

Still not ideal

The ones you can get via link on here are in plain bag.

I had a kit sent to work once & it got delivered to the wrong office which coincidentally had someone with the same name as me, they opened then returned to building reception!

Why would you be embarrassed? Sensible approach is to get yourself tested regularly. If you’ve got symptoms I suggest you go to a clinic otherwise get a free kit online from on your local health authority (if they offer that service). Superdrug and other places do online kits sent in the post but they’ll cost you.

Collect the package from your nearest boots store virtually next day.

That was my first thought but then my second thought I'm too old to be embarrassed about this stuff and OP is older than me.

We are all adults here.. we need to look after our health no matter how embarrassing.

I got a sex tampon stuck up my hoo ha. 111- they were embarrassed. female out of hours GP-embarrassed. male out of hours GP ( sounded younger and embarrassed. Lol! Young female A & E registrar terrified and embarrassed.

Finally after 8 hours- Gynaecology registrar/consultant, middle-aged woman like myself- in popped her hand all the way up to my cervix, rummaged around and out in 5 seconds. I asked her if it was common she said yes. She gave me some antibiotics as it had been in for 24 hours by then and asked me to monitor for toxic shock.

It's our health..most adults have sexual play so why should monitor out sexual health just like we monitor our alcohol, smoking, sugar, fat, cholesterol and blood pressure.

Maybe I'm less embarrassed due to the autism and the fact that my mother was a nurse who stuck an unknown medicine in a syringe in my ass cheek when I was in my 20s when I had food poisoning around Christmas.

Difficult to see why you'd be embarrassed about having a sex life. Well unless your flatmate was also your wife, of course.

Why do you need a kit? I'm sure plenty of Fab guys would happily give you an STD over the counter.
