Messaging for a second time??

Open for discussion….

If for example you messaged someone or a couple and they opened the message, never replied but didn’t delete or block you either…..is there an acceptable amount of time to wait before you message them again or should you never send a second message if your first has been ignored??

I've only sent a second message (when there was no reply to the first) twice, and twice it's lead to a meet. I simply write "Hi, what did I write in my first message"? I've no idea why it's worked, but it did get a conversation started, and some.

You could by all means send another in future op, but I mean in a few weeks, not quickly.

If I delete a message and someone then sends another in a short space of time, I block. It looks really pushy.

I kind of feel that it's pointless, you are only going to look like desperate.

Either. The message is read and not replied (they don't like you)

Or

The message is not read/deleted (they don't like you)

Or the message is read and replied to (they may like you, or are at least interested)

OP, What do you hope to gain by messaging again?

That's my two cents anyway.

If it's same day it's pushy and most likely going to lead to a block.

If it's after saying a week, then it might just be that we weren't looking.

If it's the exact same message that was sent previously then it's definitely not getting a response.

Top tip: read profiles, we just won't respond to straight guys or the straight ones who claim to be bi later on.

I don’t think there is a definitive answer to this as it will vary. Only thing is agree with others not te be pushy on replies. It can seem odd but they may well have good reason. I had that recently with a woman who contacted me and said she was keen to meet. We had a nice polite chat for several days and then she never replied again. I did send message asking if ok but she deleted. She may have good reason as found what she wanted from here. Maybe her husband found out as she said he did not know? Maybe she was a fake: Anyway OP you will never know and does not bother me. Don’t overthink this as will drive some crazy when no answer

It depends on the messages. If you've sent a decent message with substance then don't send a second message. If it was the commonly used "hi" or "yo" then send a better message.

The only time I ever send a second message is if I’ve forgotten something I wanted to say in the first or message or to attach a face pic.

If the first message has been left unread for a few days or read and ignored/deleted then I won’t message again.

Don’t send a 2nd message if your first was ignored

This happened to us, but they winked again about 5 weeks later, we responded that we had messaged you previously but you chose to ignore it. They said they must have missed it and apologised.

I (Bry) am on here, filtering messages all the time. Char gets pissed off quickly with the mundane and crude stuff so rarely looks. I might leave a message in the inbox for her to look at when we sit and look together but her current lack of mojo and interest in Fab means that might be over a week. That's just our case, but there may be others like us.
