Calling all kink-terior decorators — I’m transforming my boudoir into a dungeon, and I’d love your input.

The space is generous, the double bed is staying, and there's no need for discretion or soundproofing (sorry, vanilla guests — not sorry).

Now recruiting: fellow perverts with taste, vision, and DIY flair.

I'm not in the slightest a DIY person but I'd imagine that having the ability to multipurpose equipment would be ideal, as well as something like a James Bond equipped option to recess/expose assets on demand. Option 1 could have the room seem like a regular room, with option 2, equipment etc being rotated/exposed for use. Drop down, rotating and recessed abilities would be good. Dr No would press a couple of buttons and it would automatically self-equip, in my fantasy.

I would exchange the bed for a bondage bed with the metalwork that allows you to attach people to it. It would allow me to bin the St Andrew's Cross.

I would have two hard points to attach a bamboo for suspension or if too costly I would use a proper suspension frame.

I would have padded mats for doing rope floor work.

I would also have a spanking bench with attachments for restraints.

The impact toys would have hoops so they can be attached to hooks at shoulder height around the room. I would add dragon tails, dragon tongues a couple of bedroom whips, canes and a single and a double pinwheel. A cabinet with shelves for the sensual items. Rope would be hung at head height over a horizontal pole.

Most items would be bought in person after a visit to LAM or the BBB.

Rope purchased from a reputable rope seller a mixture of loose lay single ply jute, and POSH rope.

A half decent sound system.

I mostly use anti-bac wipes or spray

Consider the material you would use on the floor, if there is going to be the release of bodily fluids, carpet wouldn't necessarily be your friend... consider wooden flooring/lino ect something that you can disinfect and clean easily...

Some soft blankets incase your sub goes into subspace, and needs something to wrap around them to keep warm (but that is also dependant on the subs needs )

A dining room chair... with a whole in the seat big enough for a wand to poke out, can also add eyes/restraining points to the legs, and the side of the chair back.....

I made my FWBs a foldable St Andrews cross. It fits into a golf bag. It's quicker to put up or down than it is to get it out of/back into the bag!

We’re in the process of making our small spare room into a sex room, we’re gonna paint it black eventually

We have a chaise long like s shape one, we are putting waterproof fabric on that, under it we’re attaching underbed restraints (I wanted the bar version but my partner got the under bed ones cheap)

We’re just hung all our bdsm stuff on the wall in that room from what we had hung in the bedroom originally

We’re gonna look at getting some more equipment when money allows like benches etc but first we’re gonna get a sex swing off Temu that comes with the frame (don’t know about quality but it’s better than not having one)

I saw a post recently on doing a diy glory hole where you put a bench in the doorway, woman lays on it and just hang black fabric over the top which seemed amazing! Might look into that

We’re hanging up black curtains across the feature wall and having red led strip around it, then we have some LED masks we got off Temu recently (a rave sort of thing, make face and a bunny one) as decor, my partner might hang some lingerie photos of me on the wall eventually

My partner just hung my glass door display shelf I used to use for my crystals but now I’m gonna display all the vibrators and sex toys in that and make a charging station

We don’t have all that much space in the room so still trying to work out what we can do and fit in there with having enough space to move

We decided we will record videos in that room as the lighting is amazing in there compared to our bedroom so im excited for that!!

I’d love some ideas too!

100% suggest a sex swing! We tried them out in a club and it was mind blowing!! Especially for my man who is tall and can’t cope on his knees long enough XD

We also got this bondage thing on Temu which goes around the neck and there’s cuffs for the ankles so it helps women hold their legs up without the strain and it allowed more room for my partner to fuck me XD highly recommend that! Can use it in a few positions too

We're fortunate to have a bomb shelter. It's simple, cold and desolate. Which for for me creates a great atmosphere of complete isolation from the outside world. As for furnishings at the moment simply plenty of shackle points where I can rig and chain to in many ways. There maybe a couple of furniture pieces to come in time but when we're both on the spectrum minimalism does help avoid distraction.

Taste/effect is obviously subjective. For example some would go for an opulent look. However my point is put furnishing aside and nail the decore/energy of the room first. The impact and vibe that a room has on entry will do a lot of the power lifting in getting the effect you want. As for furnish keep it simple and focused. What are the very basics you need to fulfil your needs? Remember you can always add additional furniture as time goes on and you understand more what you use all the time and what won't get used. No need to crowd a room with furnishing that you don't really need.

Obviously if your having a dedicated room it's a great opportunity to some dedicated storage for your equipment and toys. Imagine a wardrobe or open wall storage where you can neatly organise and store all your bits and keep them close to hand.

I would say the atmosphere/energy of the room is job number one. The work on the furniture/gear as time goes on. And personally (from the perspective of how I like to play) you can go wrong with having plenty of shackle points in various locations (although only if they've got soils walls/floors/cellings to be secured into).
