Why would we be blocked when we have had zero interaction with an account ? …

Reasons maybe…….

Recognise us in real life??

Not like our forum topics ???

I just can’t think why people do this and would appreciate input.

It feels quite hurtful when you can’t think you have done anything wrong ???

It doesn't mean you have done anything wrong. It could be for loads of different reasons and isn't intended personally.

Concentrate on the people who haven't blocked you

Hi op

Don't take it personally, the block isn't always intended that way.

I block for a variety of reasons, it could be you're too local, you're not what they're looking for (ie they don't meet the same way you do) , they know you etc.

The block is a good function and I use it, so I see more of people I'd actually be interested in meeting /chatting with.

You've done nothing wrong.

But we block people we don't want to meet for many reasons, be it not our size, type or interests.

Their comments on forum posts.

But mainly, we don't want to waste anyone's time, including ours and to stop folks you don't think are compatible is a great way to start.

We don't purposely trawl to block people but one liners, friends invites without an initial message, poor profiles, no meets for 12 months, all red flags to us.

I've blocked loads of people that I've never interacted with.

Some because I recognise them. Some because of things they've said that have made it obvious we're never going to connect. Some because I don't want to see their pictures coming up in local updates.

It's just a way of filtering down from the thousands of users so that I'm more likely to find people that are compatible rather than endlessly seeing the same incompatible ones 💜

You’re overthinking it OP.

A block isn’t a negative thing necessarily, but a very good filter. I am a serial blocker, and use it to filter on here. So what can trigger a block?

If I look at profile, I read everything. There can be something in the looking for section that rules me out… not looking for single guys, or age, as just two examples. Then, the bio. There can be something there that means I’m not for them, such as a specific attribute they are or are not looking for, that rules me out. Or a lifestyle issue they enjoy, that I don’t… any of which is enough to trigger a block. And that’s just some of the reasons if I’m not for them. I haven’t even started on if they’re for me.

I looked at your profile, and I’ve blocked you. The above gives you an idea why.

I am blocked by many _orumites 😂😂😂 and I have many blocked too!

But also it could be a gender block or an age block- a more generic one. It just narrows people’s choice and improves their Fab experience. Don’t take it personally

If we're searching and someone isnt what were looking for, or we dont like how their profile sounds we will block.

Its the only way to avoid repeatedly viewing a profile that isnt of interest to you.

You have me blocked and I have never interacted with you. I doubt we know each other as we live miles from each other.No worries about the block you have every right to block me.

Don't let it bother you. You get blocked for all sorts of reason such as a comment you made in the forums, a comment you made in chat, they know you in real life, they don't fancy you, etc.

If I find a couple from Glasgow have blocked me or a female from Essex has blocked me I am not going to get upset. They will have had a reason for blocking me. Also as they live hundreds of miles away we were never going to meet.

Some people are serial blockers. The easiest way to get on some peoples block list is to go into chat. Sometimes in chat I will click on profile to see I am blocked despite me never having interacted with them. There used to be a female who cam in chat. No matter what room she went in 25 - 50% of the room would be on her block list. Chat must have been very boring for her. If you block somebody you can't see what they say in chat.

A block isnt an insult. It's just a permanent filter.

For people that actively search for others it's a means of preventing a profile they feel they're unlikely to ever be interested in feom appearing in subsequent searches.

It's often simply a time saving exercise. 🤷‍♂️

Like others have mentioned , a block from us is just us streamlining. If they were after a gym fit and under 40 couple then that's not us , so we block to save both our time

I’ve started doing this with:

1. People whose pictures or videos do nothing for me in the Local feed

2. People who delete my initial message and don’t reply (my logic is, if there was an attraction of sorts, they’d reply so no point in carrying on)

3. People who arrange a meet and don’t turn up

And always done this with:

4. People who send abuse.

5. People who tell me they know me (lol) and people who I think I might know.

Definitely nothing personal, but I know it’d be nice to have someone mention why, but that’s my top reasons anyway.

What really gets on my goat is when people are engaging, chatty, then just block you all of a sudden despite there being zero negativity.

i block people who look at me too many times and dont ask me anything lol. I also block people who i dont wish to contact me, could be i dont fancy them etc if theyre local saves hassle. I wouldnt be offended. I had someone block me the other day after asking me how i was, i was mid reply lol. made me laugh haha

We notice we have been blocked by people we have never interacted with.

Reasons could be many. We are too fat, we live too far, we only meet couples at clubs, they dislike our profile or any number of reasons.

It's part of their filtering and that is ok by us.
