Just wondering what people use to protect their mattresses…fed up with washing copious amount of towels but we don’t fancy using a plastic sheet either! xxx

You can get a pvc type sheet to cover the mattress + any old or inexpensive sheet on top of that and you can buy a thin quilt fit not very much and similarly with a cover. Supermarkets are good for this as are those “cheap as chips” stores and on-line of course.

You still need to do a wash whatever way you do it.

Hi, not that I have this problem, I wish I had to think about it. Just wondering, you say you don’t like plastic sheets but what about putting down maybe a mattress sheet type cover and then a plastic sheet covered by another sheet that covers the mattress so my thinking would be, that you wouldn’t be sticking or sweating to that sheet, the plastic one and that wouldn’t it be easier just to wash the two sheets then

The cheap 4-5 quid basic bitch white shower curtains work well between mattress and the sheet /s of choice on top of that, as those sheets aren't very rustly (imo).

Still gonna end up washing stuff obviously, but it saves my mattress.

Im glad its not just us that has this problem

We bought one of these squirt blankets that we saw online cost about £45 but thought fuck it if it works and doesmt soak through worth it. It took about 2 weeks to come as it came from China.... I wasn't told that when buying it just say 3 day dispatch... closer look was it ment it would be sent within 3 days no receive in 3 days... anyways very good purchase! Just be wary if you fold it in half as works best laid out as a full sheet

For the mattress - if you haven't got anything - I'd recommend a zipped mattress cover, waterproof, of course. You put it on your mattress once and you forget about it until it gets worn out.

I bought a waterproof pet blanket from Amazon (Lesure brand) and it's a life saver, particularly for hotels. They come in a few different colours and sizes, offer luxury feel and are waterproof. Yes, it's a bit of a pain to wash and dry them, but I would not go back to towels, puppy pads or anything similar. The liquid doesn't pool on those either, as it would on a pvc sheet/shower curtain.
