What is it about single guys ?

Our profile clearly says we don't want to hear from guys under 30 or over 45 yet we get loads of messages from them and then they get all shirty with us when we say we are not interested !

I think we should just tell everyone out if our age range that we will meet them then they can all go to a hotel on the same night and have a big old sausage fest

I use the message filters now so no unverified men under 30 or over 42 can contact me. Saves on a lot of unwanted mail from unwanted males and a lot of hassle when I say no thanks!

The problem with message filters is that if you prefer single guys 30-45 but don't mind couples 25-55 you can't filter out the single guys u don't want..

But apparently the majority of single men don't read profiles, so if it stresses you that much, just set your filters. The site gives you the tools to make this as fun as possible. Use them.

Yeah, fair enough, the 23 year old was a bit of a chancer but if I was 27 and saw that on your profile I would probably still have a go. Unless you block them you'll always have people having a go anyway.

It's not just guys though, I've had single women and couples way outside of my preferences try messaging me too.

Blocking them is one option but you will block everyone. However they have NO excuse to complain. If I message someone who has an age restriction I do not fit into, there is a clear warning that I should THINK TWICE before mailing the person. It does not stop me from sending a message but I run the high risk that I'll not get a response or will be blocked.

Id meet older woman than men so setting filters is harder for me too. But I don't bother setting them as I often get pm's from people on the forums who are outside my age range but I don't mind chatting to them x if I was i would set the lowest/highest it would still stop a lot of very young/old messaging I suppose x

Agree with this. Its a website issue that restricts filters. Some people will chance it, or won't read it. That's the nature of the beast for now unfortunately.

I get equally frustrated with it as a single guy when I get messages too, if that's any consolation! X

We want younger singles but happy with couples of same age or higher.

As many have said.... use the filters to only receive mail from the ages you're interested in.

At least you can do this if it's men that are the problem.

Couples are just as bad for it. But the filters only exclude them if they're both outwith the age range....

If youre receiving mail from people outside your criteria, delete block move on to the ones that have read your profile, others have suggested the filters, shouldn t need to I agree, however its a tool to help,

Or search for the guys / people that are witjin your age parameters yourselves,

People dont read my profile but I cant do anything about that other than delete my profile. Set your filters and accept that if you dont your allowing people to mail out of your preferances x

Sadly as pointed out, but so many people seem to be ignoring, filters don't always work for everyone!

Sorry but your A goes out the window as you have only blocked them from sending you messages,they can still look at your profile

Its not rude its just people taking a chance as many see age limits as a guide line and no more. If its hard and fast there there is no earthly reason for not using the filters if you have no intention at all of wanting people over or under it.

Yes there's a slight flaw in the filters in that it doesn't differentiate between genders - but I'd suggest setting them to the extremes for whoever you're looking for - as this will cut out anyone, regardless of gender, from contacting you - and then simply add a line in your profile to politely say "please do not message if you're above/below our preferred ages" .

Then you can just delete without reading anyone who ignores the instructions. Simple, quick and stress free!
