Hi guys,

I'm lucky enough to have a last minute meet with a couple for tonight.

The problem is that I only spoke to the male half and it is quite far away from mine... And somehow it raised some doubts about the meet being genuine.

Am I being stupidly suspicious or not?

And it seems the guy was arranging everything.

They are verified though!

Personally, unless they were verified genuine by someone I know to be genuine, if I had any doubts I'd want to speak to both on phone / cam before making arrangements.

We have a simple rule that we'd never meet a couple without Diane having even a quick chat by phone first. The area where we are is just jam packed with what are obviously fake couples profiles.

If they are photo verified, I would still be suspicious.

If they have only cam veris, as a couple i would be less suspicious but not take it as being a guarentee.

If they have a few veris from people and you can see them saying they are a couple, and have met them then you are probably okay.

I doubt i would travel far unless i had spoken to them either in chat / on cam, or on the phone, I have had my fingers burned before !

I had a similar experience a while ago. I was pretty sure that I'd chatted with both of them but it had only been on here not on the phone. A day or two before the meet they asked to change the venue from my place to theirs, a short train journey away. I agreed and turned up at the arranged place and time - no one there to meet me, I didn't have a phone number, thought I'd made a rookie mistake. Sent them a message on here, 5 mins later they showed up, turned out to be one of the best meets I've had.

I wouldn't recommend taking the risk though, I got lucky!

I would go with the rest of the advice, speak to both of them on the phone if they come back online, if they won't then I wouldn't travel if it was me

We never speak on the phone or cam to prove we are genuine and just trust our gut instincts. If they are verified and the verifications are relevant ones (eg not just a cam one from ages ago) showing that they meet single guys I personally wouldn't worry too much. But ultimately you should trust your own instincts.

Agree with this totally. Would never try to meet without making phone contact. As soon as people start using the old excuses, like "oh I can't,its a company mobile", the old bullshit alarm starts ringing. Anyone can afford a cheap pay as you go mobile.

I never speak on the phone first but have never let anyone down either and I'm sure my verifications show. Speaking on a phone doesn't make anyone any more genuine, if the couple are a fake, then male half could easily ask a female friend to chat, if its a time wasting prank they are pulling.

For me gut instinct works every time, followed by checking out verifications etc.

Hope the meet went OK for him. In our experience there are a few couples on here where the male half sorts everything out and sometimes the fem has no idea who's turning up for their meet!!

Wouldn't work for us, I alway's get the final say, if we get any contact whilst I'm out, Andy will always tell them that he'll show me their details and we'll get back to them (which we do).

Right I've got a meet with a suspicious sounding couple tonight. I've seen no pics, not spoke to the female and the address from what I can tell is a disused industrial estate. I spoke to the bloke before and he said he can't wait as he's just been released from jail. He seemed ok he told me he now works as a butcher and he could pick me up in his van.....Can't wait
