Finding my girlfriend's old Reddit nudes online

Not sure what forum to ask this on but I'm wondering how to handle this situation.

I have recently found my girlfriend's fully explicit nudes on an online Reddit archive that she had deleted off her page.

I previously knew she had posted content on there as she told me. She's not proud of what she done in the past so I don't know wether to bring it up with her.

It's a turn on for me to know she used To post explicit pictures, as I do too,but these are now online forever for anyone to view just by knowing her Reddit name.

If it was just 1 archive website I could deal with it, but it's a few. And some of them don't remove content if they're asked too.

Any advice?

Why can't you talk to her about it? She needs to know they're out there

Also by posting this you know you're going to get people asking for her Reddit name...don't you

I definitely will. It's something that needs to be discussed so that she knows. It's just something that can't really be fixed now and we just need to deal with it.

Don't think anything deleted from the internet is well and truly gone. Let her know and then see it as you were already aware and it's all in the past

Of course, and she knows that and was prepared if it was ever leaked. I just find it uncomfortable to know that people in our lives could now find these pictures. Im a half way mix of jealous/uncomfortable and being turned on

Well unless they know her Reddit name and go looking they're not going to find them.

So unless anyone points them in the right direction I reckon she's ok

North East Scotland, mostly

Definitely tell her.

I had old stuff of mine show up on a porn site. Some absolute arsehole saw fit to give the details out to mutual friends rather than tell me.

Tell her.

Tell her, and don't tell others. If it can be deleted and that is what she wants delete it.

Exactly. I really can't see the dilemma here

If no family or friends know, then there’s nothing to worry about. There are trillions of pictures online.

tin eye is useful as a third option for reverse image searching.

I know a girl that did porn aged 18. Even now, after 20 years of trying to get them removed, they are still there and she has now accepted they will always be available.

As she has already told you she previously posted explicit pics, why can't you tell her you have found them ?

A girl I dated in the lifestyle for 3 years a lifetime ago made 10 porn movies after our relationship ended and they are all over the place to this day, 24 years later.

They were made in France, so everyone thinks they are French, and by extension think she is French, when in fact she's Irish.

She is married with family now and not involved with the lifestyle at all, but it has never come back to bite her, and she has no regrets. Her movies are considered vintage.

Things were simpler then. Today, people have mentioned she looks like a certain French porn star, and her response is, "Oh I hear that all the time. If I'm not the French one, I'm the Italian one, or the German one." And them turns it on them asking, "So why are you researching g so much prin to find someone who remotely looks like me so many years ago?" She completely waves it away and it works.

Moral of the story? Who gives a fuck? I'd leave it be and carry on.

A neighbour was in Readers Wives, remember that? She gives me a knowing wink, she's 63 now, and no one else has any idea.

Just tell her you came across it.

Plenty of no win no fee solicitors will jump at a case where a company refuses to remove content.

Just to add, a quick Google does show there are parts of Reddit to report copyright issues. I expect your lady could claim she owns the copyright to them to get them taken down and if they don't comply it helps build a winnable case.

If, as you say, she had deleted the content previously and it remains on reddit then all she needs to do is submit a DMCA takedown request to the site. They have a specific form for this. Easy to find either on the site itself or via Google.

You'll have to tell her it's there of course as she presumably thinks it's already been deleted. And she may ask how you know and why you went looking for it. On a site with millions of posts and images it may be difficult to convince her you stumbled across them by chance.

Do we not live in an age where someone can develop a program that can securely hold your identified 'compromising' photos?

They need to be uploaded in a secure vault that has a macro function that regularly checks the all of the search engines etc, using reverse search and sends you an auto response email.

Stating FOUND! x number of photos found on x number of websites, with the links to where they are are and how to delete them.

If not, why not? Send me the royalties...

From a chat with Co-pilot, just now.

QP's response:

That's an intriguing idea—and one that feels both timely and technically feasible given today's advancements in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and image recognition. The concept of a secure photo vault combined with an automated monitoring system for reverse image searches could certainly empower individuals to protect their privacy online.

Here’s how such a system could theoretically work:

Secure Vault: Photos would be encrypted and stored in a secure location with multi-layered authentication (like biometrics or two-factor authentication) to ensure only the owner can access them.

Reverse Image Search Automation: A macro or AI function could use image recognition technology to perform regular reverse searches across the web, scouring search engines and even the darker corners of the internet.

Notification System: When matches are found, the system would send an email or app notification with details like URLs of where the images appear, alongside instructions or tools for contacting the hosts or exercising takedown rights under laws like the GDPR or DMCA.

Data Handling & Privacy: Safeguards would be crucial, ensuring no third party could access or misuse the uploaded photos. This could involve cutting-edge privacy-preserving tech like homomorphic encryption.

It's a powerful concept, but it would require collaboration between tech developers, legal experts, and perhaps even policymakers to ensure it's both functional and ethical. Have you ever thought about pitching this idea to a cybersecurity startup or digital privacy firm? It might be worth exploring!

There's a joke that says any porn vids should have Disney or Don Henley music going on in the background, so if they do get leaked, THEIR legal teams can get the these vids took down demonetised or both.

I have been a widower now for 3 years and recently l logged into a dating wesite and low and behold there is a photo of my dead wife different name and age,.

I contacted the website owner in Cyprus about it and all l got was 2 fingers V`eed,l then realise at least 12 dating sites run from Cyprus post mostly fake persons to get the punters to part with their wedge.

They are not interested how much this will upset someone just as long as they can scam people, that is their bottom line.

So be warned photos posted to friends and family can and do end up at some time being in the public domain for a variety of reasons.
