Fab life is, for single guys as much as women and couples, what you make it.

Some rush in like a bull in a china shop or an over excited teenager the first time they're allowed any access to social media. Their expectancy levels are off the scale and when those expectations aren't met it's never down to them and always down to other people, the site itself or any other reason. If things don't happen straight away they'll complain, blame anyone but themselves and leave, only to come back thinking a fresh start and profile will solve the problem. Only to repeat the same behaviours.

Others take things slowly. They don't expect miracles or to have meets lined up within days. They put effort into their profiles and photos, are selective about who they contact after resting profiles and working out if they're at all likely to get a response, and don't stress when none is forthcoming. They don't send the same 'hi', 'how are you?' or any similar message that most have seen a thousand times before, nor do they open any contact with graphic essays of what they'd love to do sexually to the recipient.

They explore the site, read and eventually contribute to forum threads that give a lot of insight into how possibly best to engage with other people. They might explore the social and club scene as an extra element to just online approaches.

Most of all they realise that it's best to be in it for the long game rather than get stressed and/or frustrated when things don't seem to be going well.

Either that or they revert to the first type of guys. And the same pattern repeats ad infinitum......

Always best not to be that guy. 🤷‍♂️

dont understand why so many men get pissy over being block its part n parcel of the scene as a whole ... select /reject..

im a massive blocker my block list is in the 1000s i block between 5 /10 ptofiles a day sometimes more and i block for lots of reasons from no attraction to guys wanking to guys being abusive to people i know theres lots of reason.. im on fab to meet guys but aqlso have my eggs in other baskets i refuse to block men via the filters i just block those im not interested in ..its that simple..

the block button is the best tool on fab by far

As a single male it was hard work. But after a bit of time started to have a few meets and couple of regular play mates. I think it gets easier once the ball is rolling. If I'd stayed a single guy on the scene I don't see this reasonably steady stream ending. Plus I'd just started to branch out on the Club scene that was potentially opening doors and getting myself known. Then I met Mrs Misfit on here, so turned out to be a huge success for me.

As for Mrs Misfit I guess we all know how that goes for a single lady. However I would add despite massive intrest it is hard to find the right guys. The right guy I'd argue is the most illusive unicorn in the game. We still find that as a couple (despite the numbers).

As for a couple it's hard to say because we don't tend to use fab to arrange meets and find new people. We're genrally more club swingers and swingers of opportunity when we're out in town.

Single men reap what they sow most times, very high false expectations with little effort will of course prove fruitless. Best advice and it's given a LOT in post replies really is attend socials and clubs be polite and don't be a douche and it really is that easy.

Typically in the lifecycle of men who leave and frequently rejoin, will be a rejoining, then asking as the majority of their profile text content, for anyone who remembers them, to reverify them, whilst just having a silhouette or a cock pic.

The platform has been invaded over the years by people whos only research is Dave from accounts spinning yarns about how easy it is to get laid on here. They have done no homework or research as to what it's all about and how it works therefore that's why you get all the crappy accounts and stupid requests

I would rather be blocked .what l find annoying is when you do long message and send face picture. They look at it do nothing no message back or block you. So weeks later you send a message again becouse you have forgotten you had already messaged them.as your old messages dont show until you have sent a new one.

If they’ve blocked you then you can’t send another message

Also if I get a read and no reply message or send a face pic and get no reply then after a couple of days I block them as I assume they are not interested in me

Yes I know people have lives outside of here and busy etc but it seems to work for me doing it that way

I'm all in favour of women blocking single men.

They could search for what they want, instead of complaining about their mailbox being full.

They would still get messages from fab-couples (where the wife is mysteriously never available, but he has permission to play solo)

In fact, I would make filters on maximum the default setting on all new accounts, to let people have a chance to look around before being overwhelmed.

You can still message out, which bypasses the filters for that person

It isn't rocket science, just be decent and honest and respectful and most importantly don't be a dick!!

If I see a profile I like, I maybe fab a picture or 10...sometimes send a wink (providing they dont stipulate no winks) or sometimes send a message after reading their profile, with a few (Non-cock) pics attached. And then leave it. If I get a reply great, respond accordingly, if I don't, back to my main rule (don't be a dick!!)
