As a single lady account on here I’m after everyone’s opinion!

If a hotel meeting is arranged with a man or a couple, who should be paying for it ?

I’m curious to see people’s opinions about this subject. Thanks 💋

If it's a man and woman then equal split.

If it's a couple and single then the couple pay 2/3rds

"If it's a man and woman then equal split.

We always pay the full amount when we meet a single man at a hotel. It doesn’t seem fair to ask for a contribution when we are staying the whole night and he’s leaving.

If the man is charging the room to business expenses I wouldn't expect to pay anything. If I was just popping in for a few hours I wouldn't expect to pay if the couple or single were staying overnight. Otherwise I would pay 50/50 with a solo and hopefully 1/3 with a couple.

The people staying or arranging pay, IMO. The third who is joining shouldn’t. If it’s a jointly arranged and agreed or if a higher category hotel is required the person needing the extra pays the difference.

Totally agree with this exactly what we do the reason we get a room Is so wife can have some fun in a hotel

If we arrange , then we pay

Then they usually offer to pay for drinks at the bar

Things change of it's a more regular meet , with someone you know

We think of it as a night out / away for us

So it's down to is to pay

I have paid for every hotel meet I’ve had as I’m the one staying overnight.

If you book the hotel specifically for a meet between two party’s it’s fair to say a 50/50 split

I’ve been staying in certain hotels before and posted a meet but I wouldn’t ask for a donation as I was already booked

If the hotel is for the meet specificly, I would say a 50/50 split or there abouts.

If one of you are staying regardless and the meet is secondary then, it might be different.

Split it if I visit and leave it’s usually with a smile on my face and the other participant has taken the trouble to organise so fairs fair

Depends on the meet. If they are already made arrangements to be staying in the area they have covered the cost, or they have insisted they are covering the cost. I like to contribute by buying drinks or similar in those scenarios. I have also paid or gone 50/50.

We always arrange the room, don’t want any unexpected surprises in the room.

This may be considered a little OTT by some but just our way

We always pay mainly as we’re using the room anyway if a meet happens or not. But also no pressure or expectation on us to play if the other turns out not to be what we’re looking for if they’ve made a contribution

We always pay for ourselves, even on solo meets when we aren't staying the night.

I hate splitting bills.

So if we arrange a hotel meet, we pay for a room, where we are happy to host the fun.

But whoever is joining us wants to stay over, then they need their own room.

Sometimes they pay - sometimes I pay. It evens out.

I think if someone always expects the other party to pay then that is not a good look.

If the hotel is being specifically arranged for the meeting then I will offer to pay half and have done several times when I couldn't accommodate.

If they are here for work and getting the hotel on expenses anyway then I wouldn't offer as they won't be out of pocket.

Personally I think it has to do with who is taking the lead on the arrangements and if its overnight or day use.

If you're booking a day use room I think totally split the bill.

If you're staying overnight and there is no arrangement or intention for the other person/people to stay the night with you then you pay the bill. However I'd probably be a little miffed if there was no offer to contribute even though I intended to pay. If you've arranged to stay the night together that's more of a justification to split the bill.

From my experience back as a single if I was arranging I'd pay regardless of if they were staying the night or not (although they always did stay the night to be fair). Likewise when they were arranging (as also happened) I'd have no problems with them paying the bill. It just always seemed a bit uncouth to get hung up over who is paying for the room and where more than a one off it became a reciprocal thing anyways like doing rounds at the bar.

Mr

Yeh we do this, it's our hotel room and we invite people.

Otherwise things get messy

I would expect the person staying overnight to pay, the other person is just a visitor

Plus you can then get the breakfast!

If 2 parties want to use a service equally, then it's reasonable to split the cost 50/50. It's not about gender but fairness.

If it's not going to be shared equally, then negotiate.

I stay in hotels and invite guests but they don't get half use, so pay nothing. I'd be happy with someone already known to get more use but I'd not entertain it with a man I didn't know.

The greater the proportion of use, the higher proportion of payment.

Some of us need to protect our security and having unknown people with full access to our bedroom 24/7 isn't a good idea always.

The other benefit is that one party can get frequent guest perks, such as upgrades, free breakfasts and rooms. That statue is valuable.
