Unhealthy relationship with fab.

Hey everyone.

Been on the site a good few years had a few meets but can’t seem to come away from it.

I mainly go on here for a perv at the pics and vids now. Hoping to meet but don’t put to much effort in as being a single guy on here it’s hard to stand out from the 1000s of others.

But can’t seem to get away. It seems every spare minute I have I’m checking who’s in the area.

I rarely reach out so don’t understand why I do it.

Not sure if I’m addicted to sex maybe?

Or the thrill of the chase? I’m not sure.

Anybody else or just me lol?

You're so not alone. Every so often l see how many days l can stay off. 3 days is probably the most. When l log back in the cycle starts over again. I love fab as it's the only site that suits my needs

As you say you don't reach out and therefore are not getting any meets I don't think you are addicted to sex or even the thrill of the chase. You seem to just enjoy the pretty pictures.

In all seriousness though if you feel it is becoming a problem for you and taking over too much of your time maybe it's time to delete the app and step away for a while.

I don't know about addiction, that's whole different level and might need additional support.

Fab, like many other things, can easily become part of your daily routine. Same as anything you do on a regular basis.

I would say addiction is when it interferes with your life in a negative way. Say it's affecting your mental health and you're beginning to struggle.

I constantly check, not out of addiction though. Just curiosity and I've been here long enough now that it's become a little part of my routine.

The difference being that I could leave whenever I wanted and only feel a slight curiosity as to what was going on in my absence. I wouldn't feel as if I couldn't live without Fab. I've left before and barely spared a thought for it.

Maybe join other sites so you can jump between, either dating sites or fetish sites. As others have mentioned it's like any other social media site, club information, forum group chats and possible meets.

We spend a lot of time here. We have a lot of messages, almost all really nice so this encourages me to check back very regularly.

I haven’t used any other form of social media for 10 years.

Sometimes I do think we need to focus on what we are using fab for and cut out the stuff which brings us no real life interactions.

OP - I don’t think you are addicted to sex because you say you are not actually putting much effort into meeting. If you are just logging in to look at pictures then I would say you are getting a high from doom scrolling. Basically you are addicted to social media not sex.

It’s nothing to do with your actions or inactions. It’s about being a single guy - almost every woman and couple will dispute it but the reality is unless you fit a certain demographic you don’t stand a chance and that in turn leaves you feeling blue but hoping you can turn it around.

I use fab (from this profile) for similar reasons to you OP… wouldn’t class myself as addicted to sex as I get plenty of that being in a relationship and the encounters I have with people at clubs.

Do find it a challenge to stay offline but that’s more so because I work from home and have time on my hands during the day.

100%. Got bored of looking photos of people’s dinner and everyone hating on each other on Facebook, at least on here everyone is generally nice to everyone else and the photos are way more interesting

I think a lot of people get stuff dopamine mining on here. Personally I am guilty as charged sometimes. And sometimes the meaner it treats us the keener we are. I say if you've identified this the next logical step is to take a break
