Love this one. We still go with the idea that we will just have fun with each other when we visit a club and if anything else happens it's a bonus

Make sure to discuss boundaries with your partner and stick to them. Over time you may want to loosen your rules, which is OK, but ensure you always dicuss with your partner.

Don't start unless both partners are 100% into the idea . One partner encouraging the other to do it may lead to an unrepairable relationship. First go to a club treating it as a social event .experience the overall feel of the scene.( no need to participate, even the feel may change your mind on going forward). But if it encourages you to go on then GO slow.. and enjoy the experience.

St. John's

To have realistic expectations.

There's often the misconception that swingers will indiscriminately hook-up with anyone and while it is true for some, the vast majority are looking for something more specific in their LS journey. That ends up translating into usually spending far more time talking about swinging than actually connecting physically with others.

Be prepared and have patience for that because it can be frustrating when you're starting out in the beginning and all excited to jump right in and discover it's not that easy.

Understand what you really want and are capable of doing..

Stop daydreaming and creating delusional ideas about the imagined version of yourself.

Fix internal insecurities first before jumping on one of the most secure minded, self assured, and honest necessity lifestyles there is.

Get tested for your own sexual health mindset.

Get comfortable addressing uncomfortable/embarrassing/personal/cultural/conversations.

Podcasts are a great source of information. We listened to the Vanilla to Vixen podcast when we started. Helped us loads as its aimed at newbies and experienced alike. It dispelled alot of myths for us. Then look for local newbie events. They are alot tamer as everyone is either new or understands how nerve racking it can be. Last don't rush. We did. Had a home meet which didn't leave us feeling good. We stopped for a few months untill we went to our first club. Then made so may friends and had a great time. xx
