If you are swingers or are just stepping into this world the most important thing is to have completely open and honest communication with each other. It's a must. It's really important that you can just be open with each others about your desires, even when they are not shared. It's perfectly normal not to share every desire but that still be OK and respected. So I wouldn't pursue swinging till you are completely comfortable just bringing up subjects like this and talking about them.
