Morning all

One of the things I really like is getting good quality photos and videos from meets. There’s a few profiles on here that manage to get amazing shots and I wondered if anyone had some tips to share for budding David Bailey’s?

It's all about angles and lighting. Not even lighting in some cases, just getting the right pose. Also sucking it in and hiding the flabby bits. Hubby takes our photos and he likes to think he knows what people want to see.

I tend to take photos during the 'action' so a more cinema verite style rather then posed. Maybe I'm asking for too much of the photos in that sort of situation!

Lighting and pose are important for us. Usually taken on a pro DSLR, unless on the beach, then it’s an iPhone

The background is just as important as the subject.

Yep, too many images have messy backgrounds, washing hanging up, pics of kids on the walls……. Attention to detail is key

Lots of the pics we take of meets are actually stills from videos....set your phone to take the highest possible quality and frame rate and you can then select individual frames of the clip and save it as a still....

I have found if it's only you and a lady friend. I have a camera with a remote zapper. Obviously your friend has to agree to being photographed and agree thats its just a photo session. I put my camera on a tripod pointing at the bed zapper in hand. Then I get my friend to make sure my cock is nice and hard and take up desired positions and zap away. Later you can edit the pics to show required action.

We have found that taking a video on an iPhone can capture some great moments. We can then use a still image from the video that has captured the angle, or pose that we want.

What software do you use to grab the stills from the videos? I could do with something good to use on Windows.

For action shots, I'd agree with what others have said about just using a phone to video the session then go through and pick some nice stills. For solo stuff, play with shadows and lights as they can make a dramatic difference. Just be aware that phone cameras tend to give everything a slightly fish-eye look due to the lens - it can make big things look smaller, and small things look bigger depending the distance, angle etc. If you can get a cheap camera with a fixed lens (ideally 50mm or 35mm) you'll get better results. Otherwise, just ask one of the many talented fab photographers to do a session with you!

Don't overthink it though, if you're happy that it's a good representation of you in person then your pics look great anyway!

Just use the phone software. Pause the video. Screenshot. Edit using in phone software and post. Always remember you're posting something that will be viewed on a 6-7" screen, not printing a huge canvas for you wall. 😉

Action shots are so hard to get as we often get drawn into the action and forget!!

However we also take stills from a video... Our last photo is a still from our last video we just uploaded. Mr had his hands free during an MFM so picked up his phone

A tripod can help in being in the right position with no camera shake if you're DIY.

As previously stated angle and background are very imoprtant factors.

We just edit the video using the photo app on the iPhone.

Our take...

Consent.

Watch the background. Scruffy or busy is just a distraction.

Interesting locations. Go on hire that dungeon.

Sexy props and clothing. Choose wisely.

Lighting. You can get some decent cheap lights from Amazon that are really portable for hotel rooms.

You don't need to do all close ups. Stand back a little and capture a scene not just a body part.

Subtle poses. Look for the work of Helmut Newton if you want some erotic inspiration.

Less is more. It's a dating site not a porn site. The adverts should sell the 'products' not give it all away for free!

Relax. No point even trying to get sexy photos if one of you isn't feeling it. Music and drinks help with the mood.

Comfortable. Again if one of you is hot/cold, worried about getting caught, that makes it difficult to get natural photos.

You don't need a DSLR. Most of ours are taken with a phone. The DSLR becomes a bit cumbersome and intrusive so it generally stays at home.

The more you take the more you get to choose. Remember though photos can be really distracting and spoil the mood, be subtle, no need to direct in a group situation, be a quiet observer.

Set a time limit and then join the action. Don't keep taking photos when it's time to have sex.

Video can look amazing or awful. You've got 24 frames a second that you need to get perfect.

Edit the photos. That doesn't mean hide blemishes by smoothing them away it means getting the light and cropping looking punchy. If they are over processed it makes you look fake.

It's supposed to be fun! If it isn't stop don't force it or it will become a chore.

Got cameras, a bit of a lens geek.

Fed up of using my timer on a tripod...

Get the basics right - in focus, clean background and think about what you are trying to say. Some of the sexiest shots aren’t that rude, but they look like people are enjoying themselves, each other and their bodies.

And then be prepared to make mistakes and learn. Above all have fun experimenting.

We use a tool called OpenShot btw, if you are ever looking for a basic free video editor. Another applications called OBS is good as well for recording what's on your computers screen so you can rip out audio tracks to put into your videos.

Some great advice on this thread. It’s amazing how you can alter the look and feel of a photo just by cropping out unwanted backgrounds etc and tightening in on the image. B&W always seems to add a little more atmosphere and sensuality

Just have fun. We do

Best thing id suggest is filming it. Then going on your phone and screenshotting the exciting parts. Or hook up a Bluetooth clicker and record and take photos whenever you fancy

We adore taking pictures! My advice is that film (digital film at least) is FREE!!! So don't take 1 shot when you can take 20!! Gives yo more chance of finding a masterpiece!
