Why does it have to be female?

What are medium techniques?

If you are wanting to learn and explore the lifestyle attend munches and make sure the people you have mentoring you have the skills and time to do it

Go to munches and peer workshops to meet people who know what they're doing and to learn in an appropriate environment 💜

I appreciate it is difficult to describe something of which you are not knowledgeable.

But it would help if you a) describe what you have seen or heard which has inspired you to want to learn shibari b) explain why you want a female Domme, and c) explain what you consider to be medium experience.

This information may help people to direct you in a specific manner.

As others have said.. nothing beats getting out there in real life and meeting other kinksters.

With bondage and rope work you REALLY need to read up about safety as badly done bondage can lead to nerve damage and potential loss of feelings/limbs.

So read up... buy books... get out people/sites on you tube too

Shibari Study is a good site

Rorys brainworks (I think) on YouTube

But always... SAFETY FIRST

London Alternative Market is brilliant for this. It was in the Revolution bar opposite Lloyds building.

It operated on two levels. The market was upstairs, full of fetish wear, books, toys, clothing and other accessories, this was also on the floor below.

Then later on in the evening, there would be an after party/social area down stairs, where there would be some restricted play.

That meant NO NUDITY, but bras and knickers or shorts were fine. Think swimming pool rules. This way the venue would stay legal and the BDSM, spanking, rope, glove and electroplay could take place.

A great way to get into the kink scene with experts all around.

'Hey that looks cool, can you show me how that works?'...this is the time and the place for you to dip your feet into the waters.

There's nothing better that going to a fetish place, buying something naughty upstairs and getting someone later to show you the (shibari) ropes, later on down stairs. Bring some nice undies or shorts if you think you want to join in on demo session.

Give it a go, it's brilliant.

Completely agree; LAM, BBB, Swamp. There are a lot of great markets and workshops. This is perhaps the wrong site to look on. Consider a more fetish lifestyle site which has both in-person and online workshops.

Ok the misses isnt into pain so I dont want to break her and not put her off with it hence a light bondage.

The reason for a a female is because its a female its going to work on. Not much good learn to do it on a guy when its completely different for females, I looked at the rope thing still might do that, the medium thing isnt putting a PVC mask with a ball strap in the mouth might be pushing it a bit far.

Maybe consider looking at Ann Summers then? A little light stuff there.

So... you're expecting a Domme to teach you rope by tying it on her?

I don't think that's likely to work out for you.

Most peer rope workshops are purely about to rope, not the rest of BDSM that might put her off.

Go to a class and learn together.

Agreed. Rope is a far cry from scarves and neck ties. Equally I wouldn’t start with anything that strong. Velcro ties - but, does she want to be bound? Have you discussed what she wants? Is this something attractive to her. Bondage is only one element of B (Bondage), D (Discipine), S (Sadism) and M (masochism).

You mention pain isn’t her thing, what about pleasure? Pleasure topping is a lot of fun!! What about sensation play (hot, cold, rough, smooth etc). There is a very broad church and communication is key. Jumping straight to bondage is a big jump if there has been no communication. A blindfold, kisses and cubes of ice can be amazing fun and a great place to start.

BDSM isn't about being in pain. It's about trust first and foremost. It's about trust and letting yourself go. You are in charge and can stop at any time. The relationship is exactly like going to get your hair cut or a tattoo. The skil l sett involved in ropework is something like crochet or knitting. If you do it as a couple and I really can't sing that one loud enough. Just think how much fun walking down the aisles of B&Q would be later on, whispering naughty scenarios in each other's ears.

Some of the basques and sleeves look amazing. So do your homework and do an imae search and really whet your appetite.

(Yes, I know the ropes in B&Q are not the same as shibari ropes)

good luck.

I do spikey gloves and that's sensual and even ticklish in places, there's an event with both of your names on it, go visit, go sample, go perve and go enjoy yourselves.

OP, if you merely want to restrain your wife then you can learn single Column ties (one wrist or leg) or double column ties (two arms or two legs) on YouTube. Similarly with basic harnesses. Not all Peer Ropes are of the same quality, or teach the same style of rope. I think SWAMP (which is a rope event) is not too far from you. If bondage for sex is your interest and you learning style is books Chanta Rose's book "Bondage for Sex" is a good start.

In terms of rope it does not matter which gender teaches you as you have your wife as a model. If you were thinking of practising on your teacher it is unlikely to happen as ordinarily the tie would need to be demonstrated. If you have no model, the tie would be done on you and then may be you would be allowed to try.

Unless you are concentrating on breast ties for the bigger breasted woman, crotch ties, or suspension, most harnesses and ties work for all genders.

Between Chichester and Havant

There are many good videos and books on the subject, you can teach yourself along with your wife's permission, practice on her. Much more fun!

There are certain pressure points you should avoid including the on the wrist which many don't know about. If you search for your local kink community, a big website even that I can't mention, you will probably find munches and peer rope groups. One thing the kink community is good at is passing on their knowledge. You may find someone to demonstrate for you, either on someone else or even on your wife to show you how. Just, like with everything, do your research!
