Why do so many people on here lie about their age ? Don’t they have to provide evidence when they apply for jobs ??

No you don't have to provide evidence of your age when you apply for jobs. Most companies no longer ask for date of birth to avoid age discrimination.

Not sure what connection applying for a job has with fab though

To get around filters usually but you can only do it once so it tends to backfire.

That's not true in my experience. I was always asked my age or date of birth outright or with alternative questions like "when did you qualify" . I refused to tell one HR director my date of birth and she said " It's ok I will get it off your credentials" ( passport ).

Employers can only ask date of birth if you must be a certain age to do the job e.g. over 18 to sell alcohol. It can be asked on an equality monitoring form but nobody involved in the selection process can see it. Obviously if like me you took your O levels in 1972 it's going to be obvious.

The big problem is profile age settings are not reviewed by the profile owner. You get photos 10 years old and the age range not changed. Really fab should automatically add a year every year to those parameters to force users to update their profile.

Don't get me started on the 'fill in later' brigade those profiles should be deleted after a week.

People might not want to change their age range. The age they register with is updated yearly and you're allowed to change it yourself once.
