Why don't you just go along to one of the numerous friendly socials in pubs held across Sussex, OP? There are regular ones in Brighton, Eastbourne, Worthing and (I think) Bognor. It's just a group of like minded folk having a drink and chat in a pub, nothing to be scared of.

Just new to the scene so don't know many socials and always better to go if your going to meet someone you have been speaking to.
