If you have ever been ghosted, have you ever bumped into the person later on in life. If so did you ask what happened and what was the answer

Everyone's been ghosted. It's a shitty thing to do, but part of the convenience we all enjoy.

Honestly,by the time we catch up with each other it's almost like different people. It always leads to renewed hookups or a half hearted apology for something the Ghoster and Ghosted barely remembers

When then happens put it down to experience. Nothing more nothing less.

People may have different priorities commitments.

The old saying nothing ventured nothing gained. Better to have licked and lost than never to have licked at all springs to mind!

Hotel all booked, meet at time agreed then 3 days later nothing.

Wow. That is really poor form. I always turn up. I just don’t get some people.

Especially if the other person goes to the bother of arranging and expense.

Then not to turn up and Ghost.

It just shows a level of absolute contempt and lack of empathy.

You can look on it this way. Take the positive out of it. Would you have rather they had turned up and then found this out later about their character.

It’s not like I’m upset, just confused! I’ve read in previous posts that people can get the ick by something that’s been written by the other person, I totally get that. But there was nothing of the sort, all arranged time etc then gone that day of the meet. I suppose like others have mentioned here, it happens alot so I’m not the minority. Xxx

My favourite ghoster arranged a meet, I planned it all rented a car then when it got to the meet, she blocks me. Later that day I get a message asking why I blocked her and didn't turn up and that she turned up and was in tears.

I know for a fact I didn't block her but now I get replies from others that just say I ghost and block.

So I imagine there is a ladies group chat that facilitates the need for female gossip.

It makes no sense. I'm respectful and intelligent and generally do as I say I will and say what I will do. Genuinely single and don't pressurise any situation either. Not a victim, just putting it out there, I will find one and she's gonna have a good time

Yes, I have. I saw her about a year later. She came over with a big smile on her face ready to engage. I just blanked her and walked off.

Hell yes. A few years back we broke our rules and started chatting to a young local couple. We got on very well and soon set up a meeting at theirs to see how we all got on.... False address !!, we found out from other friends they'd done it to them too under a different profile (same photos). They blocked us and then deleted their profile. We reported both of course. A week later we saw them in our town centre !!, on seeing us they scurried away and dissapeared into a shop. So no, we didn't get a chance to question them or beat them senseless with a stick

Fab is between a rock and a hard place at times. Usual thing is this.

Someone contacts you. You exchange a couple of emails. Public pix look OK but inevitably at some point you gotta ask them for a face piccy. We tend to do it early on. Some get shirty and shifty, some say fine OK and when the face piccy comes back you think. Oh dear.......... Mrs N or I really don't fancy but how do you say politely, you've engaged a little and feel a bit guilty but it has to be done.

Most peeps come back and say fine, we appreciate your honesty, Others get really nasty and that's when you think hmmmmmmmm did I deserve that. Probably not as we've only exchanged 2 or 3 emails, haven't really wasted you time like you are trying to claim.

I think that's why ghosting happens. It's hard to tell someone you don't fancy them after all.

p.s. If someone says they don't fancy meeting after all we just send polite OK message back. It's no big deal is it to be civil.
