We are looking to head for night out in Edinburgh this weekend. Looking to have Helen chatted up by guy or guys while we are out having her flirting and dancing with other guys is a major turn on for us both. Have any other couples had any experience of this?

Which is the best way to approach as we assume nobody will approach if we are sitting as a couple so we were thinking of being separate in busy club and just hope somebody approaches her and I can sit nearby watching it unfold.

Or how have couples worked the situation to have someone chat up the wife with hubby being present. Any advice welcomed

This is sometimes our dynamic, I’ll be honest and say that in vanilla environments unless your wife is very confident and forward the vast majority of guys will not approach, no matter how you look. You’d have much more luck in a swingers club that allows single guys. In Edinburgh that is the After Dark club out by Sighthill…

It is how we get most of our play either in bars or when on holiday.

We are very sociable so frequently get chatting to someone.

If we think it might lead to play one of us will squeeze the others hand twice. A squeeze back once means no and twice it's game on.

We've done this plenty of times, you're right in thinking that men won't approach her if you just hang out together though.

Id say there's a few things to think about, one is the kind of bar, it needs to be one with a dancefloor and music etc really. Loads of these in Edinburgh so shouldn't have a problem.

Secondly, you will have more luck on the dancefloor where she can dance with guys while you give some space.

Finally don't be disappointed if nothing happens, it can really depend on the night.

You may find some guys eyeing her up but not approaching, then you can think about what you might want to do in that situation

In swinger clubs I would leave her alone for a while to give the guys a bit of room and over the years it worked well.

In a vanilla situation it only ever happened the once and that was on a cruise.

We didn't really plan anything but a solo guy we had got to know over a few days became her dance partner (I'm not a dancer) and it developed from there.

On the last night they went from dance floor to cabin. You can imagine the rest.

This was my thought. I would be royally effed off if I found out after the event that I was being used for fantasy fulfilment without my consent. If the genders were the other way round I doubt we’ve have got this far down the thread before someone queried the ethics.

I have been thinking something similar (especially the ol'gender reversal thoughts)

I also think Scotland's consent laws are a bit (from a male perspective) loose. Apologies if I have this wrong, but under law, consent can be given, "event" can take place, a period of time later consent can be retrospectively removed by one party, and charges can be brought.

Honestly though, I hope OP can find someone willing and consenting, just OP should be aware that there are lots of scenarios where "the guy they want" says No

I often speak to couples at bars in the hope they have this dynamic! I've not found one yet but have met lots of nice people and had good chats, I just wait to see if they might hint at being open to it (I leave loose openings after having got comfortable chatting such as what a gorgeous couple they are / if they don't mind me saying he's a lucky guy).

My tips would be:

find a table with an extra seat, sit next to each other so a guy could join opposite, much easier / inviting to start a conversation

Eye contact, if Mrs was looking at me and holding eye contact, I would be coming to have a chat

Once you've got a guy at the table, let him know. It doesn't have to be massively direct as the flirtation is such a sexy part of the journey, but if he's sat opposite you can run your foot against him, give flirty looks and take those opportunities to let him know you're open

But in terms of single guys, we would often go clubbing when staying away from home, either overnight or on holiday, and the wife would like to dance so would hit the dance floor while I sat on the side watching her dance. Inevitably she would attract male attention and she would enjoy flirting, kissing etc, and if all going well would head over my way and casually drop in ‘this is my husband’.

Some would freak out, some would go with it, and we’d often take a guy back to the hotel.

Holiday hotels/bars, waiters and bar staff can be a fruitful hunting ground also…

That seems like pretty flawed logic, because what you're saying is that women shouldn't be allowed to sit alone in bars unless they're single. It's perfectly respectable to go to a bar for a chat, whether you're single or married.

I'd agree that before agreeing to take things further both sides should be honest, but I don't think trying to chat some woman up in a bar gives you any rights over her.

It's less about whether approaching a single woman is OK or not in and of itself and more about the situation being manufactured without their knowledge.

I can totally see why, when the end game would not be known to the male ahead of time that this coj/could be seen as manipulative or misleading. Especially if the husband/partner is sitting on the other side of the room, watching and getting thrills from it - again, without the other person's logic.

Flip this around and imagine the scenario in which two male friends go to a club with the intention of having a mmf threesome and get sexual thrills from the idea of one pretending to be a single guy on their own and then once contact has been established and a rapport built, they introduce the idea of the other guy and ask for a threesome.

How do you think most women would feel about that? I don't think it's a stretch at all to suggest that this behaviour would be seen as manipulative and dishonest. Particularly if you then add the possibility that during the 1 to 1 interactions, alcohol has been consumed. I would call any two guys doing this predators. That dynamic isn't wholly different simply because it's 1 make and 1 female....

I’ve been lucky enough to experience this from both ways. Met a woman at the bar in a club and got chatting. Few drinks and things started to get quite flirty. Onto the dance floor, having a great time then she whispered in my ear that she was married, with her husband and that they wanted to pick up a single guy to go home with them.
