If you've moved between areas it can take longer as more than one police force have to report - been a long time since I can remember a report taking more than 2-3 weeks coming back, even the complex ones. Fingers crossed for you.

There’s no saying and sometimes there’s no rhyme or reason. I’ve had people’s come back within 24hrs and others after 8 weeks.

When you receive it, opt to go on the update service. It's a skank at £13 a year but saves hassle in the long run. Keep the certificate safe and copy the number down.

Best of luck.

Why are people using third party companies and not doing it directly on gov.uk website? Wouldn’t it be faster to do it directly?

I think it can depend to a degree if it is a standard one or and enhanced one. It also depends on the local police force and their turn around time. (Bear in mind that your colleagues might live in a different police force area.

I already had a valid enhanced DBS check in place but for a different opportunity needed another one, which took several months to come through.

You are able to check the progress online, just ask Google how to do it.

You shoulda used the gov.uk dbs check, nit third party.

Mine was months waiting 4 years ago, i eventually e mailed my mp and it came the following week..

The Dd wont matter, neither will the moving..

My guess will be the police are holding yours up , to many to deal with and too busy i was told
