I have taken a break from work to write a book. They say wright what you know. So it's going to be about sex and how we got into swinging 23 years ago. Or should it start when I lost my virginity and build up to the swinging.how much detail should I give it's not going to be a romantic book.

Any advice would be a help.thanks

I've forgotten what sex is, so I can't help.

I'd say write about how you got in to swinging. Decide if you're going to write it chronologically or by separate experiences eg good and bad, couples, singles etc. and make brief notes or bullet points before you start each chapter.

Don't worry about being right first time you can edit and re edit.

Aim to cut down by half what you've written.

Set aside a time each day to write.

Good luck

Thanks a lot. It brought back so many good fun memories so far and only done six thousand words. And not even wright about swing yet. Just making notes doing the order of

Clubs and meets making . before the swinging starts.

Plan and review your plan, as you progress.

The details that are personal will give it its uniqueness and interest. You could always post a few pages, for feedback too, to get a bit of market testing going

It's quite a task to write a book, I took a month off, wrote daily for several hours. For me the story just flowed.

Read, reread, review, it's going to take time but the sense of fulfillment you get when you complete it is second to none.

Write what you know. Re-arrange later.

I do a mixed method of plotting and pantsing. I write down the scenes, dialogues, bits and bobs I got. As I do, a tentative outline starts taking form in my mind. Then I write that outline down, so that it uses all the bits that I've already written. At this point I write more bits, fill in the gaps, rewrite the original bits, and even make adjustments to the outline. Rinse and repeat until I get 90k words.

A PS to that: what works for me might not work for you.

The only advice that applies to everyone is, do whatever you need that gets you writing. Plot first. Write first. Human sacrifices first. Whatever. As long as it gets and keeps you writing.

I'm currently writing a book, I get inspired and write a chapter then leave it for a few weeks. I'll get there.

Mine is a biography about the persona that I created for pro wresting and carried over into the fet and swinging scene.

It's talks a lot about mental heath and addiction, the ups and downs of each world and essentially living with a duel personality.

I'm writing it for myself but hey maybe I'll be able to get it sold on amazon for a quid!

Up on them there hills

When I was writing, I was advised to treat your story as a poem, tell the story to the least number of words you can. Keep grammar, clean, and don’t use apostrophe; when a semi will do.

Don't worry about your school experience as what you can share now can captivate and you can let your personality shine.

It can be a slog at times but you can find the working pattern that works for you, so that you maintain your productivity.

Nobody needs to read about how you had your cherry popped in the skip behind Weatherspoons. Skip that bit.

I would just say make sure that anyone you may refer to in the book cannot be identified unless they give consent to do so
