Doubt there is an easy answer to this but we are keen to hear constructive ideas/ thoughts

There is no safe option.

Safer yes but not safe.

Safer includes getting to know a person and building trust over time.

Possibly a drug called Prep (research online but an anti HIV drug).

Insisting all parties have full spectrum Sti tests and share them.

It's not impossible to find a trust worthy guy to act this out! There are guys looking for one regular "safe couple" to play this way.
