At the risk of setting off a flurry of ridicule, there must be at least a few others on here who visit NT houses and gardens? Do you think they’re suitable social meet locations?

Why not, it's a social meet, nothing sexual bar some flirting is going to happen, and you can have a nice walk and chat to see if there's a connection before it goes any further. Crack on I say op.

Yes it's only a social meet, I'm a National Trust member and wouldn't think wrong of it if a couple or a lady suggested it, a coffee and a walk around the grounds would be nice

Absolutely perfect for a social meeting, nice lunch, beer or wine, car rug in rucksack, then a nice walk into a secluded spot to see what comes up!

I do too. Some gorgeous locations, and thinking about historical trysts that have happened is erotic...

Good idea. Relaxed round the grounds, and often nice tea rooms.

Just taking a break from my day of volunteering with the NT. It's an excellent idea and I have in the past used NT carparks for naughty encounters in my motorhome. It was a massive turn-on, having sex discretely in the van with a FWB, while respectable visitors were just a few metres away, unaware of what we were doing in the van.

I often fantasise about what I'd enjoy doing in a quiet part of the estate with some of our attractive older visitors.

It’s actually very gratifying to see a good response to this. Thankyou to all who replied so positively. It will be definitely higher on our venue suggestions from now on.

Perfect place for a social meet, even better in this weather to take a picnic to.

Totally agree it would be an excellent idea for a social and, if I'm honest, I suspect I'm going to be more keen on people with a shared interest for other activities too.

We're members. The thought of being interrupted by a coach full of pensioners wearing Jesus sandals, socks and cargo shorts would put me right off

I think they would be great for socials actually. The ability to walk round and talk, while taking things in around you. It's a great conversation starter, and if it doesn't work then at least you've had a good day out

Great idea OP! Better get the wellies on

a village near Haywards Heath in East Sussex

I have met potential playmates for a social at NT properties. You get to chat and look around house or gardens and if your invitation to a cup of tea and cake in the cafe is accepted you are heading in the right direction .
