Going back a couple of years people used to arrange social coffee meets but haven't seen any for ages do they still exist.

They do. I used to offer to meet people for a social when I was popping into Derby about twice a month on my singles profile.

I was going anyway... had so many no shows

There are a few organised socials but they tend to be during the evening.

We sometimes meet people for coffee but that's just us and them rather than in a group

I used to do a regular coffee meet up on Sunday afternoon.

Put up a forum post or a meet and see who turns up. It may take a few weeks to get established but it does work.
