Hi everyone I'm going to my first social soon and just wanted some pointers on the best way to approach it , do I go fully dressed up, what's the best way to interact etc ( as you guess bit neverous)

Turn up in dirty clothes, smelling of B.O. and with bad breath.

Talk all about yourself throughout the duration.

If they want to meet again, they definitely like you.

If it's a group social or organised social, they normally happen in regular pubs or similar. Therefore normal "going out" clothes are recommended, with nothing overly revealing but also not looking like you're just off to see some mates down the pub or like you have just came there straight from work. It's usually "smart casual".

If it's a more 1:1 social, the dress code would depend on the location. But I would still go for "smart casual", like you have made some effort.

It's natural to be a bit nervous, most other people will be too.

Dress nicely and just be friendly and chatty to people.

Have you got some cards made with your fab profile name on so that the people you chat with won’t forget your name and be able to give you a verification afterwards? I was chatting in a thread recently and someone posted that that’s what most people do.

Someone also said that there will a group chat set up and the host will add everyone to that group chat who’s going to be attending so I assume your host has created a group and added you to it. Have you asked in that groups chat for any advice and got chatting with the other attendees? You’ll feel a lot less nervous if you have a chat with some of the other people who will be attending beforehand.

Good for you trying a social. Ignore the advice on cards. Almost nobody does and it would look odd. It's a swinging social not a business meeting and everybody will have phones. Just make a note of profile names on your phone and check veris of organisers afterwards. There is no magic words. Just say hello and chat like you would anywhere else. Try to be funny and interesting and flirty if you can but just be a normal decent person. Hope it goes well for you. Lots of the men signed up will probably not turn up so you might get lucky if you do. Oh lots of socials and parties (probably most) don't have chat groups. Some do but far from universal.
