Hi everyone. I've never been to a club before but have been giving it some thought the last few days. Usually the main nights at the swingers clubs seem to be nights I would be out with my friends going to vanilla bars and clubs, but this week I feel like trying out something a bit different, and have been looking at secrets in Sunderland.

Just wanted to know how welcome a young (I'm 22) single man would typically be in this environment as I've read posts in the past from many couples who don't like how many single men frequent these clubs and I don't want to be just another person adding to the problem. I was also a bit concerned that someone my age wouldn't be appreciated, as the first club i looked at didn't even accept single men under the age of 25.

I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this. All positive or negative comments are welcome. Would I be better off sticking to normal bars and clubs or should i just give it a go?

a lot of it is very mental... in having the right frame of mind...

but then I would say the same thing to everyone, be that single man, woman or couple...

don't just go and sit in a corner... go and talk to people.... be socialable!!!

actually to add for single guys.. don't just gawp and run around like a little kid in a sweetie shop...

If its a club where there tends to be mainly older people attending then I've always noticed that a young single guy usually does pretty well, it's a nice change and adds a bit of variety

I think at your age going on the average age of men who go to the club we go to and you are polite and sociable your main problem will be saying no!!

With such an articulate and well thought out post as this seems, combined with a great profile - I would be prepared to stick my neck out and say you would do well in a club.

Pick your night carefully and do a bit of research, the last thing you want is to turn up on a dead night when everyone else is off a social meet in a club down the road

Non-pushy self confidence and a bit of cheeky banter have always served me well in a club. Just be yourself, best of luck

Thanks for the helpful comments. My friday night plans have moved to thursday, so I think I'll give this a go on friday night. I'm quite a sociable, friendly person so I don't really see myself being sat quietly in a corner. My main concern was my age really, but I feel a bit reasured by the comments so far.

I have been considering Secrets too for a while now. I'm the same age. I hopefully will work up the courage one day, might see you there!

Hell no! In fact, in my experience, an excess of pumped-up thrusting young bucks running about on a mission scares people off, some of them are juuuuuust too intense and exciteable in their determination to get "some action"!

Worst of all are the ones who know each other and compare "scores" loudly enough for everyone to hear, or work as a team to scope the quarry out and share strategic information.

I like to remind them of the old bull and his son, standing on a cliff, looking down at a herd of grazing cows.

The son says "Hey Dad, why don't we run down and fuck one of those cows?"

"No son" says his wise old Dad "Let's walk down, and fuck them all"

Alas, many will nod like they understand, and then promptly scamper off after the rest of the pack, following the fading pheremone trails of anything with a vagina.

Eeh, the folly of youth! (And no, I wouldn't swap places with them, I'm happy being a decrepit old fart, old enough to appreciate I actually didn't know it all back when I was 22!)

Fair play to the ones that pay attention, use their common sense, and learn how to play the game. The future is their's, I wish them all the best!

Well unfortunately the free time that I thought had opened up on friday night never really materialised, so I didn't have time to go in the end. Would have liked to go tonight instead as im definitely free all day today, but it's couples only tonight. Oh well, some other time perhaps.

We have attended several clubs in northeast for the last 10 years and find the younger guys more fun to play with.

Make sure you are dressed well showered and smell nice ...make an effort to chat with couples

Do not make mistake of following every move of every couple and hunting in packs

Sure you will meet some lovely people and make some friends in the scene

So unfortunately, I couldn't prove you right.

I went to secrets last night for the first time. Great atmosphere and very welcoming! I was very nervous going in but after about an hour it was like being at a party with friends! I did have a little bit too much vodka but I still had a fantastic night!
