I am after some advice/answers. Those ladies who have passed through the change did your libido come back with a vengeance or have you had to work at it?

Asking for a friend

It doesn't necessarily go away

The only answer I can sensibly give your friend is that it's an experience that's personal to the individual so other women's experiences won't be relevant.

Some will say they never want sex again, some will want sex but find it difficult, some will have voracious sexual appetites and all variations in between. The best thing is for people to adapt in whatever ways are necessary if they can.

Thank you and so eloquently put.

I meant have people worked through it and found a way that works for them. Sorry if that came across wrong.

Carlisle usually

It hits people differently. Of friends I've seen go through the change some have gone borderline celibate and others have gone absolutely feral

Yes they have. It requires the ability to talk and listen from all concerned and often needs people to accept that their s X life isn't going to be the same but with work and compromise can be as good.

Imagine your friend injured his back and was no longer able to have sex in the ways he used to. Hopefully he and his partner would come up with other ways to fulfill their desires. If he had no desire at all then maybe they could discuss his partner getting sex elsewhere.

I don't know, it all seems so tied up with self esteem, feeling loved and pressured. It's a tricky thing to navigate in a relationship

no 2 ladys will have the same menopause so anyone giving advice will do so from only their own experience that wont be that helpful for others..

i went thru my menopause in my mid 30s my monthlys just stopped and i felt nothing no change no loss of libido nothing i needed no meds no help whatso ever my sister went thru her menopause and tried to kill her husband in many ways ... hes still will her poor sod

so it will effect everyone differently your friend need to go to her drs and ask for a bloodtest women can lose there libido as can men for many many reasons

I am going through menopause now, it started a few months ago, with painful breasts, dryness and very low interest in sex. I managed to get GP appointment relatively quickly, the one I saw specialises in women's health (lucky me!). We discussed my symptoms and how they made me feel, discussed my thoughts about possibly starting HRT treatment (hormone replacement therapy) and she sent me for blood tests. I started the patches about a month later and have not looked back - my painful boobs went away almost immediately, sex drive came back to some extent.

My advice - get your friend to talk to a medical professional or a pharmacist (some pharmacies offer menopause consults) as soon as possible. And good luck.
