Hi guys, asking since advice about what you'd do in the following situation. A single male friend of ours has been chatting to a few different couples and single fems and has a meet with the female half of a couple who we'll call A. He's also been chatting for a while with another gen female from a couple who we'll call B. He's been chatting to B for quite a while and they'd exchanged over 200 messages but never managed to arrange a meet. He's chatted with B about some meets he'd arranged which then fell through last minute and a lot of her conversations revolved around A who she'd said she was in comms with too. Now he's 99.9% convinced that B is the male half of A using a fake profile. The profile is well verified but the veris are not published so possibly an old profile of theirs that he's resurrected. What would you do in this situation?

Go and meet A, then afterwards arrange a meet with B. 200 messages sounds an awful lot though!

I think he's making this far more complicated than it needs to be and I don't understand why he's talking to one woman about another.

Why are you asking for advice on his behalf?

Because he didn't want to make the guy aware that he knows what's going on if he's being somewhat stalked by him.

He's been trying to meet B. If he meets B at all then he'll find out one way or another

Honestly if your friend has suspicions that a guy is pretending to be a woman he should either call them out or report the profile. If he's hedging his bets in case it really is a woman he'll need to ask to meet for a coffee or a quick cam.

Which one are you OP?

Are you the guy using a fake profile, going by your logic, this must be fake profile right since you have not displayed your own veris.

To be honest, if just block b or stop engaging.

If he's tried and failed to meet them several times, either they have no intention of meeting or are not who they claim to be.

Stop giving them the attention and info they're after.

Do many people give their phone number to people they've never met?

Well, there’s nothing you can do, because neither of these people have the slightest intention of meeting you. So if you’re enjoying the chat crack on, and if not then stop replying?

If I enjoyed chatting to 'them' I'd continue. Assuming it's the same person being weird.

I was in a similar situation where I was chatting to a 'woman' and her man friend. It was the same person but it doesn't matter to me as the chat was good. He wasn't aware that I knew. Don't mention it or they will stop chatting as it spoils the illusion.

Wherever

200 messages is an indication itself for not having any intention to meet in a first place.

Some people just enjoy the attention you give them.

If we are getting a genuine feeling and are about to meet then yes.

200 messages sounds like a lot for anyone with intentions to meet. Arranging a play meet is sometimes tricky but having a social coffee together for an in person chat and find out if there's attraction enough for a play date is not that difficult.
