Is it just me or do other people on here think it’s inappropriate to ask questions about members children?

I think it really depends on context and how the conversation comes around.

Some people do not like to talk about their actual normal day to day life on here and some don't mind.

As a first question. No

After talking for a bit and if you want to disclose parts of your life off here then why not.

Swinging is just sex. It’s the social side. And many people meet here socially and are friends

If the reasons are about challenges to meet, not being able to accommodate, need of childcare to be able to arrange a meet, in see no problem.

Asking for details about specific age, gender, names of your children etc I don't think it is appropriate unless you have met them in person already. If you have not met them, It could be someone suspecting that they know you and asking for details of your children to confirm it's you. Red flag.

Only time I mention children specifically is to make sure I'm not accidentally planning a meet with a school dad!
