Play Phone

Hi All,

I am after getting a play only phone and just wondering what the best way to go ab out it is.

I am thinking a cheap handset (ASDA sell one for £10) but what about the SIM/Pay as you go I was hoping to get somethign wher eyou can buy some texts and minutes and then top up when needed.

We brought a cheap pay as you go phone from argos, just top up when needed, simplessssssss lol

not saying i have a naughty boys phone , but - - - - -

remember if you want to send or recieve pics you need to make sure your phone can accept then , my cheap tescos one cant , opps bugger just confessed to all

Maybe just obtain a pay as you go sim which you can use in your current handset.. Unless you have an iphone.. I hear you can't remove the sim from those. Only if you are bothered about being able to send/receive pics and stuffs via phone though. Otherwise just go for a cheap pay as you go phone.

With the cheap phones can you go on fab web site. As its good to be able to access fab on your travels in case meets don't turn up for any reason etc. I just use my regular phone. Only give out my number for meets and friends we plan on meeting again. But i won't give out Wifey.s number as i have heard of men badgering the woman once they give there number out. They can badger me all they want you can soon block there number

We got a real smartphone on a cheap monthly contract. We can browse Fab from anywhere, use most messenger networks like MSN and WhatsApp, and take photos to immediately submit to Fab.

Unless you plan on never ever using it, the cost of pay as you go isn't actually cheaper, long term.

Thanks all. I use my current Smartphone for pics, whatsapp, email and fab access.

I was just after a playphone with a few minutes and texts we can use for the last bit pre-meet and lets face it most people can sent texts.

I imagine low useage

You can remove the sim from an iphone but means not having it for like two weeks and can cost you up to a 100quid (euros btw) also invalidates apples warrenty for the handset.

Shop around, some companies have pay as you go options that give you free texts and Internet usage when you top up. This is great for play phone as it doesn't cost you a lot.

If your on O2 remember giff gaff will work on a handset that is locked to the O2 network

You also need to decide what you want from the phone as like someone has said, they cannot get photos on their phone and this will obviously make a difference on what you are going to get

Hi any upgrade cheap phone from earphone warehouse as little as 3.5o as most of there phones are unlocked they don't tell you this lol but It's true virgin mobile do a talk and text bundle 120 mins and texts for 15 quid and that's unlimited texts

As long as sim is for same network for iPhone you can swap them as and when, dont have to wait two weeks, and does not invalidate warranty. You can buy a dual sim attachment from eBay so both sims can be perm used, this people can get hold of you on main number at same time as you text etc from play only number.

I use dual sim attachment with my contract sim and a pay as you go simplicity sim running side by side

I got a cheap Nokia from a second hand shop and a sim from Poundland and topped it up with £5.

I still use my smartphone for fab and pics, but never give that number out to meets. I use the playphone for contact immediately prior to meeting. Anything else people can do through fab or email.

We just got a pay as you go sim to use in our old contract phone we use that for arranging new meets on meets with single guys,,couples we have met and we know we can trust,we give them our normal mobile no,oh and two guys who wife really enjoys we have

There numbers if needed

just in case anyone missed the thread last week, there is an app you can download to block anyone you don't want pestering you..it's called mr number..and it is ace....saved a whole lot of hassle
