Hi all , might just be over cautious here but I seem to be seeing a trend of males messaging me from miles away , Ireland and London etc. When I point out the distance a few are saying they have just moved to Skipton or they are working here etc. They never show up on who's near though and seem very sketchy on details of their location.

Is this a scam I should be aware of, what are they trying to achieve?

I don't think it is a scam , more a person who is willing to travel so pretends they are in the area or are in the area for work etc

Still just feels a bit creepy being lied too.

Yeah true, but I was suspicious as one guy told me he was moving up here to renevate a house for a year, the street he told me he was renivating his old house on was finished being constructed 3 months ago haha

I get these all the times but never assumed it to be a scam. Rather taking their chances, the best to ignore or block if it’s what your gut feeling tells you.

You say that it feels creepy being lied to but why do you assume that they’re lying? If they’re sketchy on the details of their location then it’s probably because they don’t want to reveal their exact location to someone they’ve only just started talking to on the internet. If someone you’d only just started talking to on the internet asked you to give them precise details of your location would you give them or would you be a bit sketchy until you knew the person better?

No where in your profile does it say that you don’t want messages from people who aren’t local to you, what it does say in your profile is that you’re interested in exchanging sexy messages and pictures which you can do with someone no matter where they live, so why are you so concerned with people’s location?

Her profile literally says she’s interested in exchanging sexy texts and pictures so I don’t think that someone messaging her looking to exchange sexy texts and pictures (or wank chat) is a fantasist.

NickD. I'm not fussed about where they are from, and have never said I was!!!. What I asked was is it a scam that they initiated a chat with me stating they are moving or have moved to my exact location despite the fact they clearly haven't !!!. I'm very sorry this has clearly upset you for some reason.
