I met someone last week and we had a good social drink followed by a very passionate snog. Then he said he had a family barbecue but would love to see me afterwards. Then came the text messages of oh now it’s a family meal and then oh more relatives have turned up. Then asking am I available the next day. Radio silence and then message saying oh my phone was smashed so I wasn’t able to message etc.

This was all after saying so many women aren’t genuine……… really

I don't make excuses if I don't want to meet I'll say so

A few years ago I had arranged a meet with someone and on the morning my uncle called me to say he was going to be discharged from hospital and asked if I could pick him up/take him home etc I obviously said yes cause its my uncle

I messaged the guy and explained (I had previously mentioned that my uncle was in hospital cause I was visiting him everyday/doing his shopping and liasing with the medical staff about his care- so it was a really big part of my life at that time) and said that I was free the next day if he was and I would make it upto him

He called me a fake and a timewaster and blocked me

Living in Doncaster you don’t have to travel the best part of two hours to visit your nearest club, and being a couple, you are free to visit a club pretty much anytime you choose, unlike me, as a straight, white, single guy, I am limited to when I am ‘allowed’ clubs entry, unlike your average coffee house, which I am able to visit anytime I choose, and pay the same entry fee as everyone else, ie; nothing…..

But hey, if I was in to someone enough, and they really didn’t feel safe anywhere else, a club visit wouldn’t be totally out of the question

Had one lady whose car must have broken down getting on for 10 times I did meet her once but it became a joke in the end that she would make plans when horny at night and then cancel with car problems on the day. I challenged her at one point and she did admit she just felt guilty cheating on hubby and got cold feet but then felt horny again a week or two later. The routine became so funny I stopped getting annoyed as knew what was going to happen.

All sorted, I'd made arrangements and bought stuff to add a little a bit extra to the evening.... then a text 'think I'm going to put a new door on my van tonight!' Next day he had a new verification.

Undoubtedly, your feelings are going to be a bit hurt if you think you ve been dropped for someone else but I'd rather that than adding lies to the mix as well.... and men think its just women who are the time wasters

We've had so many lame excuses, but two incidents we remember.

We been chatting to a guy who lived two miles away from us. Arranged to meet and a couple of hours before he had to go to work for an emergency which was 20 miles away. An hour later he was still showing two miles away and online.

Invited a guy round for late night fun, he was on the way then said there was no taxis available. When we checked uber in his area there were plenty.

These type of excuses really do ruin it for the genuine guys, if you have no intention of meeting then why waste our time.

"We didn't think you were real"

Back when I was on here as a couple another couple we'd arranged to meet for a social in a pub never showed up and later gave this as the excuse.

If we'd just texted or messaged via here then maybe they had a point. But we'd actually made two different phone calls to arrange us meeting up and all four individuals had conversed, albeit briefly, with each other!

All good fun eh?

Very bizzare comment to me when I only meet in clubs lol.

I don’t do excuses I just say I don’t want to… however I’ve cancelled twice, gave the genuine reason and got so much abuse lol.

People only get one chance if I’m meeting them at the club specifically, if I’m already going to the club and they cancel I’ll do the same again but not make extra effort to attend for them xx

Private meet in hotel, had some fun and he’d missed a call on his phone, he listened to the voicemail message and suddenly I’ve got to go my flat mate is being arrested for not having a television license and I need to leave now, we had plans to stay overnight etc…. Found out later it was his mrs and people wonder why I just meet in clubs and no I didn’t believe him at the time I was just amazed at the complete crap that came spewing out of his mouth

Sounds like; when a woman makes a genuine excuse, she’s a time waster, the bloke seems to get angry. Yet, the excuses from men, just sound like they can’t get away from the wife/family. Their excuses are pathetic. These type of men ruin for all the others.

It you decide, said person, is not to your liking, just say you’re not compatible. There’s no need to waste the other person’s time, or make lame excuses.

We once arranged a meet with a single guy and the morning of the meet, told us he couldn't come as he was taking his friends dog for a walk.

We also had another guy tell us he was washing his beard. Wtf

Some great excuses, I have to remember them lol. I wished I had though of them before I met a cpl in Ipswich. I pulled outside their house and they were looking out if the window, I knew things were not going to go well when in the front garden was a piss stained double mattress. Popped inside and have to say the shitty garden was more tidy than the outside, Wayne and Wennta, slobs, the house smelt of piss, god I am flash backs writting this, but the last straw was when the guy said that I would have to fuck his wife on the sofa as their teenage children were up stairs. I was out of there faster than superman doing a costume change in a phone box..

Her windscreen broke so couldn't drive anywhere (lived in a village). But managed to hook up at a party in another county that same night. (If your gonna lie, don't get veri'd)

Dispite being very chatty in the days and hours before the meet.He started to feel ill while on the 15 min drive to ours.

After previously telling us she was an orphan, her excuse was that her brother died, (turns out she had quite a reputation for bs in the scene)

Had travelled over an hour and booked into a hotel, local to another couple who where going to join us. An hour after they where due to arrive they suddenly want us to travel to another city to go to a club with them.... excuse us, we just paid £200 for this hotel.

Male partner can't get time off work is the one excuse we had. Very unusual as we suspect it was a female pretending to be a couple.

I’ve had two cancellations in over two years here.

One, an hour before we were to meet socially “my niece has been attacked at school (she’s 8 years old). She was run over by a car. My sister is distraught and I need to mind my other niece.” Supposedly a big bullying problem at the school. A week later he tried to rearrange. I didn’t bother responding. He published verifications a few days later. The people he met explicitly mentioned the date in their verification. He went for an offer of guaranteed sex over a social. For months, he’d attempt with new profiles to get me to meet him.

Second last minute cancellation, a different man. Radio silent two days before scheduled meet. After chatting away for weeks nonstop. I didn’t bother sending a message to see if he was still on for the meet. The day off, “I have a fever.” I wanted to laugh but I didn’t so much as bother to reply. A whole weeks goes by and still no exchanges of words. Two weeks, he sent an incomprehensible message. He apologised for not

meeting due to work being made. He had forgotten the reason he told me. He told me he’d like to reschedule. I’m too busy for that but told him I’d get back to him when I fancied meeting. Which is never.

Chatting with a couple for almost two weeks. Finding a good range of common interests. Start to arrange for a meeting. Some hours before the meeting was due, while I was getting ready, they cancel because "your skin doesn't look very white. Are you white British?"

Southampton/isle of wight/ everywhere

I arranged a meet with a couple about 18months ago, a fair distance from me, booked a hotel as well. The morning of the meet, I did a covid test and it came back positive. I phoned the couple, not text, and told them. Got a barrage of abuse down the phone then they hung up.

Minutes later, my inbox was flooded with messages from the couple, and 2 of their friends on here, calling me every name under the sun.

So, I got in my car, and drove to their house which was the agreed meeting place and knocked on the door, stood there wearing my mask and said “I’m here, which one of you wants to suck my cock first?” Door slammed in my face followed by phone call to apologise for calling me fake!

Confirmed a meet in the evening, I was going to his. Messaged for address in the morning, ww were meeting at lunchtime. No reply. Then later in the evening got a message saying he was at the airport waiting for a flight to America!

Another we had agreed to meet, he was going to give me a massage, said he didn't have sex on first meet, and he was booking hotel. Morning of meet he messaged to say he didn't want to pay £60 for hotel just to give me a massage, could we rearrange when either his place was free or he'd found somewhere cheaper.

Both were told to forget it and blocked.

I do give second chances if I feel the reason is valid and I'm told in advance x

Will tell you one of ours. It's slightly funny but not.

We had arranged a meet, this happened over a cpl of weeks chatting, phone confirmation with the ladies. All good......

The day of said meet, brother in law dropped dead. LITERALLY.

Sent apologies.

All was accepted & said we would try to re arrange.

They suggested another date & we said sorry, that's the funeral day.

They suggested ( & I'm being polite) that we were time wasters.

I said I'd ask if my sister would think about re arranging the funeral.

LIKE FU, K DID I

As a cd/tv I get my fair share of cancellations and no-shows, but it does kind of go with the territory.

One guy cancelled on the night and said he couldn't get out because his neighbour's mum had to go into hospital and he was mates with his neighbour so couldn't leave him???

Anyway I actually gave this guy a second chance (live and learn), he cancelled again in a very annoying way, first he said he would be late because he was at a meal with his family and it was overrunning (this was 11.30pm btw), then at 1.00am he said he couldn't get an Uber. I offered to get him a black cab but he never replied. Aargh, I should have learned from the first time!

On the positive side, so far, anyone who has met me once has never cancelled or no-showed for further meets

He left his phone at his mums.

After I had gotten there and was waiting lol.I have had some others over the years, I didn't give him a second chance. I had spent time getting ready and moved things around in order to do the meet anyway. This was after talking all week. Maybe it was a genuine mistake but no my time is precious and I'm not into having it wasted.
