Hi,

I have a possible upcoming problem that maybe someone here could help me with. We're due to meet a lovely couple but the only date on which we can all meet unfortunately coincides with my monthly visit from The Painters. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way I could alter the date by a few days, bring them forward or delay them.

yes..... go and see your GP.....Can't remember the name of it but they can prescribe a drug to delay. You need to start taking it 3 days before your period is due...I'm sure someone will tell you what it's called....

Thanks for your reply, do you know if it is some kind of contraceptive?

Try apple cider vinegar tables that you can get from Holland & Barrett. Not sure how long they take to work but they can prevent it.

I've heard of apple cider vinegar being good for your health but not that it stops periods. Thanks, I'll look into it.

I used to get Tranexamic acid tablets from the doctor to stop my periods. If I was going away for a weekend for example. My periods were very painful and very heavy and the last thing I wanted was to have a period while away for a few days. The doctor gave me them without any problems. You have to take them a few days before you are expecting your period and it delays it until you have stopped taking the pills. Hope this helps. x

I've frequently used 2 of the mentioned approaches:

1) Beppy - they're awesome and work very well. My hubby Pete knows I have one in because my pelvic floor is shorter but, because they're so soft once he knew it wasn't my cervix it didn't change anything.

I'd really recommend them.

2) The pill option. I've been on the pill for years and frequently keep taking it if I'm in danger of being 'on' when I want to have some fun. Not recommended for long periods of time but for a few days it's fine. I've even rolled in 2 periods to one before when on my honeymoon.

I was due to be 'on' over the wedding day and there was NO WAY I was going to be bleeding!! Also the honeymoon was 2 weeks so by the time we came back I didn't see the point in stopping the pill as I'd maybe end up bleeding for twice as long?!

Anyway, both work but I'd probably go for both if it's your first time as trusting the beppy without experience would be freaky for me and I'm not sure I'd be able to relax.

There's the beppy and soft cup things that physically stop the flow, then hormonally stopping your period which can be a bit hit and miss - by taking the pill without stopping or getting the pill mentioned above (dont ask me to spell it at this hour).

The doc cant really refuse but you should be able to get it from.a family planning clinic too if you ring and ask they will tell you if their docs would prescribe it.

Enjoy your meet!

i have fibroids (waiting for treatment from hospital) which cause me to have very irregular prolonged periods. i never know when im going to be on or for how long. my docs are very good and i take norethisterone too. it is generally used to stop periods for holiday but because of my circumstances i use it a bit more often and especially when i have a special occassion coming up. i havent had any side effects either with taking them.

I bought some of the beppys but probably won't get a chance to try one before the night in question. I wish we could just re-schedule but it would be another couple of months at least before everyone was free.

Can a meet be that important to start messing around with your monthly cycle?

Doesn't sound as though you have it easy normally and dread to think what it will do to you if you miss a month!

I know what you mean and I am reluctant to mess up my cycle especially as it's become regular for the first time since I was 11. The trouble my boyfriend and I don't see each other often and it will probably be another 3 months before it could be arranged again, and the other couple may have difficulties then or have lost interest.

Thats a bit sad though - watching everyone having fun but you can't. Personally I would not meet on my period because I don't like people assuming I am just there for their pleasure.

I read this post to see if I might learn something new, and I have.

If I was a woman I would not mess up my monthly cycle for a meet. You have a very valid reason to postpone the meet. If they lose interest than I would say they might not have been the right couple to play with.

As to your boyfriend. He should be ready and willing to make love to you when ever he can, and that means even when you are having your period. My ex never had regular cycles so we never new just when it would be. I assure you, her periods never stopped us from making love. Good luck on what ever you decide.

That's exactly what I was thinking!!!? Do what you want to do and what makes you happy! From reading this, I'd get some of those pills and use a beppy. Maybe use the beppys from the start, so by the time of the meet you may be lucky enough to have a couple of hours "trial run", and be able to make judgement?

I have a light flow, but sometimes use a tampon for very heavy periods as this tends to "dry" me out.. Not sure if that would work for you- Use a larger one on the run up to the fun, then nip to the loo and switch to the beppy?

This is what I have been considering (the beppy) trouble is if it starts on the day I will feel crap too as I always do on the first day, pain etc, so ideally I'd like to delay it by a couple of days. Of course I could be lucky and maybe it will be late...but there's Murphy's Law and all that.

I don't have horrendous periods or anything like that, I often use norethisterone and have never had any problems with it...potentially you'd probably only have to take it for 3 or 4 days if you're due on the day of the meet, stop taking it the day afterwards and you should come on within 2/3 days so would only be postponing by 3/4 days which hopefully may not be too problematic for you...good luck and enjoy

I cannot answer for him, especially about the Pit-bull. But, I can tell you this, as I mentioned earlier, my wives periods never stopped us from making love, unless she was cramping, and her period never stopped me from pleasuring her orally. She was a little nervous the first time, but once she relaxed she enjoyed it the same as she did when she wasn't in her period.

Thanks for your comment and I think your ex was lucky to have such a sensible man...it's only a tiny bit of blood and what makes that a bad bodily fluid and cum etc. a good one (or have I watched too many episodes of Buffy?)

Meh, tell him to get stuck in, it won't kill him, it just tastes a bit coppery. (Mind he washes his face before nipping down the offy during any lulls in the proceedings. There's nothing like a red stripe across your mush to get people talking. Ask me how I know...)

Anyway, if he's not going to see you for 3 months, your arse might end up bleeding too at the end of it all, he'll be all over you like a pitbull...

Ok, I'm asking....how do you know?

I'd also like to know

There are two of us now that want to know so spill the beans!

Eeekkk! I don't think I could cope with anyone going down on me during full flow! Lol regardless of what the man thought?! Lol all I would think about is a "blobby bit" being on their face or cock... Hehehe Ming!!! I have no intention of licking my used tampon or pad, so why would I want to lick it off a man, just because HE likes it?!

I may be totally missing the point, but I totally understand where she is coming from if she feels ever so slightly similar to me!

i have experience of soft cups from boots..they are a bit like a diaphram,a soft stretchy cup with sits over your cervix and catches any blood.

I was quite surprised that you really cant feel them once in the right place!I would say though if your period was very heavy and with all the movement during alot of sex you would need to change it every couple of hours.on lighter days though you can use them for up to 12 hrs.

I wouldn't fancy it myself on the first couple of days but after that it's so light and really it's just the normally fluids you have there everyday with a tinge of blood so I don't see the harm...but perhaps I'm just a dirty girl! lol

"oh and i used the depo injection contraceptive in my teens and my sex drive disappeared too! In fact even watching people kiss on tv made me feel sick!! weird!!"

I was reading an article in the newspaper one day about catholic priests that went to a retreat to be "cured" of the sex problems and they were given the exact same hormone that was in my injection because it was known to kill the sex drive...I was so fucking mad that I had been prescribed that for contraception and it really damaged my relationship at the time.

"Personally id avoid both norethisterone and transemic acid as ive had past experiences with both and they are damn evil..

Lets say we didnt delay a month more like 6 and then it didnt stop for 3 months solid, only now have i become regular so never ever again . x

That sounds bad, I'll definitely give it some thought.

I'm also concerned about which hormones are in them because I used to have a 3 monthly injection for contraception...it worked well because it killed my sex drive!"

I had the same problem with both the pill and the injection, but as you are taking for such a small length of time I don't think there will be time to have that effect. Didn't for me anyway. No side effects whatsoever reported here.

"Can you buy these Beppy things from boots? Or tescos?

I found a few places with a google search but I bought mine on Amazon."

Get the wet ones - they're easier to 'retrieve'.

"Hi,

I have a possible upcoming problem that maybe someone here could help me with. We're due to meet a lovely couple but the only date on which we can all meet unfortunately coincides with my monthly visit from The Painters. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way I could alter the date by a few days, bring them forward or delay them.

"

Tablets you need from Doctors are called NORETHISTERONE. I use them usually when going away with the hubby on the odd occasion we havent got the kids for a weekend. Take them 3 times a day for 3 days before your period is due and stop taking them when you're ready for your period to commence again.

Ah, so it killed their lust for cock too?

As for the earlier statement, I had an ex who was always extra horny when she was "up on the blocks", so I got used to earning my Red Wings. There was no drama, it's not as if it was like a Charles Manson crime-scene, and let's face it, when eating out at the Y, one is concentrating on parts which don't run with blood, right? It's perfectly feasible to pleasure a woman even if she's packed up with a Cunt Flump.

One day I ended up nipping out looking like Christopher Lee without realising, because up until then, the red stuff was extremely thin and very sparse. I guess the lass in question was one of those who doesn't leak like the Exxon Valdez, or she spared me the times she was. I was exposed to far too many aspects of the Menstrual Cycle than is normal for a single guy in his 20s (and I still understand NONE of it!).

Personally I think there's a marked difference having sex with your spouse whilst she's on than with some random women you meet on a swingers site.

I'm amazed how sex rules some peoples lives that they'd risk taking unnecessary chemicals into their bodies, possibly throw their menstrual cycle out of whack just for a fuck.

I've been on a cocktail of drugs from transanemic and mefonanemic acids to zenatol that was implanted under the skin of my stomach because my periods made me so anaemic I'd need blood transfusions.

I hated being harpooned every three months and the tablets made me feel yuk, but it was that or four days every month confined to my house passing lumps of liver, smelling like a copper mine and gushing blood like Old Faithful!

Is sex with strangers REALLY that important?!!

somewhere

I would never feel at ease playing whilst on periods and if i had a diaphram in or soft cup id be a nervous wreck incase i leaked. Also youd have to tell the person your playing with and they might be put off.So either delay the meet or take northisterone.Start it 4 days before ur due and stop it the day of meet and ul bleed a day or two later.I bleed for longer and much more painful after taking northisterone, and it mucks up my next cycle but then after that its back to normal.

From most of the responses your experience with this pill seems to be most common and I think a fair trade off for what I want. I appreciate some people have had a harder time on it, from the comment above, but it's not just about having sex with strangers. I get to see my boyfriend rarely because of the distance we live apart and the hours he works and the last 2 times we were together I had my period, and it's due the next time I see him (aaargh!) If we could change the date when were seeing each other of course that would be the easiest thing to do, but we can't.

That sounds promising, if my doctor will prescribe it, she'll ask a million questions tho!"

You can order online from Dr Fox (totally legal & above board) xx

she's got to:Its lots of hormones you taking. My friend suffered extreme heavy bleeding after taking them. You have to think if thats worth it!You might be lucky + no effects.

(susie)

I know it is a worry. My last period was so heavy I thought I had forgotten to put a tampon in...but I hadn't!

Oh well if you're already suffering with heavy periods.....actually I'm pretty sure that it is something that they also prescribe if you suffer with heavy periods...so that might also be worth mentioning when/if you go

Yes I did see that it can be prescribed for heavy periods, so maybe it would be double the benefit."

I recently had it for a very heavy bleed that was out of character....3 tablets a day and took about 3 days to stop fully. I had already started bleeding though so if you take them before it should stop your period! I had no probs with them and would def use them again! x

Thanks for your reply, do you know if it is some kind of contraceptive?"

wifey has just been to the docs for this as she was due to get her monthly when we are on holiday in may. You have to take the pills three days before period starts and i think 3 times a day for the duration,it is a hormone tablet rather than a contraceptive. But what do i know i am a bloke

It can do. But it's not an option for everyone for various reasons. And would be prescribed just to delay a period.

Hmmm just a thought......I'm on norethisterone and am currently enduring two periods per month which is driving me loopy so this can't be the med that can be reliable to delay your cycle??? It is literally the pill and wont guarantee no bleed.
