web search visibility/privacy

Ok, it seems I am being stalked/monitored by my ex who has mentioned in a text that disapproves of my involvement in "'adult' stuff" and I should get over it and I wondered how she might have known what I've been doing so I searched my user name (not that she would have but anyway) and found that my name and age came up on a google search with a link to my profile.

I have setup my account as private as I can to prevent this type of thing as I would like my exploration into this scene kept out of public view at least for the present time but I'm guessing I have missed something or can I ask why this would have happened in the first place. I would have thought this kind of forum would have measures in place to protect the identity of it's members but maybe I'm wrong!

I looked there and I've applied everything other than hiding my profile which would mean that I'm hidden even in this site which defeats the point of being here really don't you think?

Depends when you did it, the rules state that it can take a couple of weeks, to remove - did you manage to google me?

I've looked and I don't appear and I have all my privacy setting set to not show.

The cached image of your profile in google is dated December 24 2012.

I assume you didn't have the filter set at that point, but set it later? If so I don't think there's a lot you can do.

Think the good luck wishes came to late!He's gone.

The thing with Google search is that forum posts can also come up with the profile pic, if the settings to not show on websearches aren't ticked.

Found this out a few month after we joined,done Download(Donnington Parc) in search and next thing Ooops my Forum post came up further down the list.Hope no one we know noticed + changed our settings right away,sweating for a few weeks in case....
